About Me
I am passionate about giving children opportunities to develop at their own rate through play activities with a learning twist .I have a custom built setting to spark children's imagination (indoors and outdoors)
I will adapt activities to individual interests, ability and needs to help each child to develop at their own rate.
I love to give the children varied experiences outside my setting by visiting lots of different outdoor play areas, exploring the woods and visiting the many interesting places that Plymouth has to offer including Saltram and the Aquarium and meeting with other childminders so the children get to share experiences with other children.
i have recently completed elklan training in speech and communication .
i accept all government funding schemes .
I have two grown up girls and two grandchildren and spend lots of time at the weekends on walks and exploring new parks and outdoor areas
My Experience
I have a custom made cabin and extensive outdoor area which the children love.I work with my husband who has just retired
. Before I registered as a childminder I ran my own business .in which I ran groups for six years providing lots of play and learning activities for many children across the city before reaching school age. These sessions have included many play and learning opportunities including messy play , sensory , fine motors skills ,early maths , music and movement and phonics .
I am now using these skills and knowledge to nurture and care for children by giving them a broad scope of activities to help them grow .
I was previously a higher level teaching assistant providing many learning opportunities for children that needed their learning differentiated to their needs .
I have recently been supporting a child with specific sen needs
I have worked in various nurseries as bank staff recently.

I have mon Tues wed space available from 8 or 8.30-4 or 4.30 .term time only immediate start or Jan 26

- Childminding from £7.00 per hour

Our little one started with Hazel back in Sept 2023 and from the very beginning Hazel, has shown exceptional care and dedication to our child’s well-being and development. Hazel creates a warm and nurturing environment that made our child feel comfortable and excited to attend each day he was there.
Hazel was remarkably attentive and possessed an exceptional understanding of our child's unique needs, consistently going above and beyond to ensure they were met. Nearly every day, she had thoughtfully planned a day trip, outing to a playgroup or park, or organized an engaging activity. Her creativity and dedication kept our little one actively engaged and continuously learning new things.
Communication with Hazel was always seamless. We were kept informed about our child's progress and daily activities, which gave us great peace of mind. Hazel would also update the app with photos of the day which we all loved as it allowed us to stay connected and share in our child's experiences.
We were especially grateful for the values and kindness that Hazel instilled in our child. Her positive influence was evident, and we noticed significant growth in our child’s social skills and confidence.
We highly recommended Hazel to any parent looking for a caring, reliable and professional childminder. We felt incredibly fortunate to have found someone as dedicated and passionate about her work as Hazel. It is bittersweet that our son had to move up to preschool, as we will truly miss the exceptional care she provided.

Hazel started off with my son Isaiah for a month , he was 6months then he settled well and she made it so easy for me to leave him in her care. She is caring and pays attention to details and she kept on asking if there was anything she could do to make him feel settled , she is diverse which I love and she was kind to us and took time to know us and settled all my worries. We unfortunately moved from Plymouth and could no longer use her service , but Hazel is an awesome childminder and your child would be in safe hands. Always welcoming us with a lovely smile , Thank you Hazel for opening your home to us x
