My Experience

Hi everyone!
My name is Elisha, I was a primary school teacher for 6 years before becoming an Oftsed registered childminder. I have been working with children aged between 0-11 for over 12 years. I have an Education Studies degree and Qualified Teaching Status.
I have a home based setting with an outdoor area for the children to play and learn. We go on regular trips out to play groups, soft plays and local farms/zoos.

My Qualifications

Btec level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
BA Degree in Education Studies
Qualified Teaching Status

Didn’t Turn Up. Offered No explanation

Elisha had made contact with me offering to tutor my 5 and a half year old. I had advised from the outset my location and details regarding my child’s struggles which I then went onto detail further later on communication.
We had arranged a time and date for her to visit our home to meet with my little boy. On the day of the first session she confirmed that she was on the way some 40mins prior to the appointment time. She never turned up?! I never received any correspondence explaining why she now couldn’t make the appointment and then found that she’d deleted our messaging thread and rendered it impossible to access her profile page.
If she had decided that she could not offer her tutoring services to my little boy after all she need only have messaged me. I’m not an unreasonable person we all change our minds but not normally when your on the way! My son was very exited to meet you and eager to please. We rushed our dinner so as to be ready for your arrival time at 5.15pm only for nothing… but copious questions from my son asking why you’re not here and doesn’t she want to help me anymore? He’s already struggling to form a bond of trust with his teachers so this experience hasn’t helped. If you truly are a teacher then I seriously hope that you reflect upon your conduct today. My son deserved better.
