Outstanding Childcare in Titchfield Common – Mini Explorers Childcare
My name is Claire, and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder based in Titchfield Common, Fareham. I am a proud mum to three wonderful sons – one aged 21 and twins aged 17, bringing over 21 years of experience as a mother alongside 16 years as a registered childminder. I am also well known locally as the “Twin Childminder”, with extensive experience caring for twins and multiples, including previously having 6–7 sets of twins attending my setting at the same time.
I provide a safe, secure, fun, and nurturing home-from-home environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. I offer a wide range of toys and activities suitable for all age groups, supporting learning through play in line with the EYFS.
I regularly take children on outings including toddler groups, local parks, and story time at the library. These experiences help children build confidence, develop social skills, and interact with a wider group of children.
The whole of the downstairs of my home is dedicated to the children in my care, including a large, bright playroom that opens out onto a spacious, fully enclosed garden filled with outdoor toys and equipment.
I offer school drop-offs and collections from:
• Locks Heath Infant & Junior Schools
• St John the Baptist Primary School
• Park Gate Primary School
I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce and a full Paediatric First Aid qualification.
I am extremely proud of my Ofsted achievements. I was graded Outstanding in both 2015 and 2020, and at my most recent inspection in February 2026, I achieved the new “Strong Standards” grading under the updated Ofsted framework. My reports are available for parents to view.
I am supported by two qualified childcare assistants, enabling me to provide high-quality care with additional support and flexibility for families.

My Experience
I have over 21 years of experience raising my own three children, alongside 16 years as a registered childcare provider. Through both personal and professional experience, I understand that every child is unique. I use this knowledge to ensure each child’s individual interests, likes, and dislikes are recognised and valued, helping them feel included, happy, and secure within my setting. This approach supports all children to enjoy their time here while reaching their full potential.
My Qualifications
•10 GCSEs (Grades A–C)
• Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
• Ofsted graded Outstanding (2015 & 2020)
• Achieved “Strong Standards” under the new Ofsted framework (February 2026)
• Advanced Paediatric First Aid Qualification
• Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) Certificate
• Level 2 Food Safety
• NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service
• NVQ Level 2 in Animal Care, including behaviour management, health and hygiene, and rehoming
My Availability
I offer childcare between 6:30am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. I understand from personal experience how challenging it can be for working parents to balance family and work commitments, so I aim to be as flexible as possible to support individual family needs wherever I can.
I particularly support families such as teachers, military personnel, and nurses, offering early starts, flexibility, and term-time only contracts where required.
I currently offer early years spaces, as well as wraparound care for school-aged children (including children starting school), and school holiday cover.
My Fees
- Childminding from £5.25 per hour
set rates for before and after school care.
discount for full days or siblings attending on same days.
i can supply all meals if required. All meals will be healthy balanced meals and my menus will take into account all childrens likes and dislikes , allergies or food requirements.
