About Me
Hello, my name is Fiona. This year I have improved my learners' grades in GCSE Foundation maths taking them from a 2 in mocks to achieving a 4 in the real thing. Getting that 4 is like a key in the door to unlock further study, apprenticeships and employment. Plus once they've passed that GCSE they never have to do maths without a calculator ever again!
I am an experienced Teacher and Further Education tutor and now taking on students for online tuition in Year 10 and 11 in Foundation GCSE maths. My ideal student is currently working at a grade 1/2 as they go into Year 10 or a grade 2/3 as they go into in Year 11
I enjoy making learning fun and aim to teach through games and activities that embed learning in an engaging and practical way. My lessons are 40 minutes to keep things snappy and interesting, perfect for learners with ADHD and/or autism. £25 for a 40 minute 1:1 lesson.

My Experience
I have a range of experience with a variety of age groups.
Primary teacher for 3 years - Achieving a grade 4 at GCSE Foundation maths is the same as achieving mastery of the primary maths curriculum + a bit!
Alternative Provision Key Stage 4 tutor for 2 years.
Further Education tutor for 4 years specialising in special needs.
I have lots of experience working with students with a range of special needs including emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), autism, dyslexia and moderate learning difficulties.
I believe learning should be fun and rewarding not stressful! I'm passionate about protecting young people's mental health and my overall aim is to boost a student's self confidence as well as their grades.
I started teaching online during the pandemic and never stopped! I'm very experienced in making online learning just as interactive as face to face tuition. All students need is a laptop/desktop or a tablet to access the lessons.

Fiona sitted our 3yo and 8mo kids during a private event. She was so very reliable from the first second that we immediately felt at ease. Even though they didn’t have a long time to get acquainted our kids had a good time. Fiona had great ideas how to keep everyone happy - and even brought her first aid box. Big plus for us were her language skills. Our 3yo says they made a new friend… We would recommend Fiona to everyone!

Would highly recommend fiona lovely, trustworthy and reliable lady been tutoring my 5 year old for a while now and he adores her she does great at keeping him focused and iv seen alot of progress with my son.
