About Me
If I were to ask the children I nanny for what makes me great at my job, they would say 'you're fun and caring' 'you are a little bit silly sometimes but I think you're awesome' (I can promise however there are times when I'm not awesome and I'm unfair just because I drew the line at sliding down the banister).
If I were to ask the parents what do you think makes me good at my job, they would describe me as kind but fair, loving towards their children, I fit in well with their family, I even go the extra mile and work outside of what they expect of me- even if it is only giving their children my socks when they are cold!
I think I'm a great child carer because I go out of my way to ensure the children in my care are happy and healthy and make sure I do everything I can to put their needs first. I enjoy challenges and taking risks with children to allow them to push their boundaries and see how far they go. I am a great believer in learning through doing, whether that be through playing hairdressers or an adventure in the woods to find insects.
I also understand the importance of being flexible and adaptable to meet different requirements that family's may have.
My Experience
I am a full time nanny, with my time split between two families. One of my families have a 6 year old triplets, whilst the other family have 15 year old twins. In the past, I have also worked as a temporary nanny with a 16 month old baby and a newborn, where my role including assisting mum during the day and evening.
I have a BA Hons Early years Upper Second degree from the University of Greenwich. During my time at University, I volunteered in a number of childcare settings, including a nursery, primary school and a specialist school for children with severe learning disabilities.
I have worked part time as a carer for two down syndrome adults and a young woman with autism.
