Hello!
My name is Dilshana, and I am an OFSTED-registered childminder based in the Barton Hills area of Luton. I am also a qualified teaching assistant, passionate about helping young children thrive and prepare confidently for Reception, as well as Key Stages 1 and 2. My childminding service runs from 7am to 7pm to support busy families.
With over 22 years of experience in childcare—including raising four children of my own (three now in their 20s)—I bring both personal and professional insight to the care I provide. I’ve been a dedicated childminder for nearly a decade, committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on key areas of development: Personal, social, and emotional development, Physical development, Communication and language, Literacy and mathematics, Understanding the world.
My childminding setting includes:
Playroom – A creative space for dress-up, painting, drawing, playdough, and arts and crafts.
Lounge room – A cozy area for story time, singing nursery rhymes, quiet time, and naps. School-aged children particularly enjoy this space to relax after a busy school day.
Dining room – Where children enjoy nutritious meals and snacks (all included in the hourly rate). I also enjoy baking with the children as a fun, hands-on activity.
Child-only bathroom – A dedicated, professionally cleaned bathroom for the children, separate from my family’s.
Spacious garden – Equipped with a slide, swing, playhouse, sand table, and seating—perfect for outdoor play and fresh air.

My Experience
With over 10 years of experience as a childminder, raising four children has been both my greatest pride and a valuable learning experience. It has deeply informed my ability to support and nurture children in my care.
I’ve also worked as a teaching assistant, helping children with their learning and individual needs in a school setting.
Additionally, I have experience caring for newborns and supporting children with limited English, providing a safe and encouraging environment for all.

Received training in paediatric first aid.
Completed course in "Understand how to set-up a home based child care service".

My Availability
I am willing to look after children from early in the morning till late at night or whenever my services are required.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
£6.50 per hour from 6:30 am till 6:00 pm.
Able to discuss fee; everyone's situation is different and I understand that.
These rates include meals. Should parents choose to provide their child's food they may do so.
