About Me
I am a OFSTED Outstanding Childminder accredited in 2016 and 2022 living close to Twickenham Green.
In 2016 OFSTED said, ‘The Childminder has a highly comprehensive knowledge of how individual children learn. The quality of teaching and learning is inspirational.The Childminder provides a very warm and nurturing environment. Children make outstanding progress.’
In 2022 OFSTED said,’ Children thrive in this setting. The Childminder draws on her excellent knowledge of child development, which is inspirational and worthy of sharing with other professionals. The Childminder is extremely passionate about her role and responsibilities. The Childminder sensitivity nurtures the children in her care.’
My setting provides a nurturing and comfortable setting for children. Children have good attachment so they are confident in and out of the setting and are ready to learn and become independent.
Teaching is my passion, children at my setting learn through play and a stimulating environment. We have a strong emphasis on Arts and Crafts, each month we have a different theme ,including four books related to the theme to encourage a love of reading and to widen a child’s vocabulary. All the children’s work follows the EYFS, Early Years Foundation Course.
We go out into the community to playgroups, music groups and playgrounds, often meeting up with other settings for picnics and to play, which encourages children to make positive relationships with lots of other children.
I provide breakfast and two home cooked meals a day ,which encourages children to try different tastes and textures and become independent feeders.
My Experience
I qualified in 1987 as a trained nanny after a two year City and Guilds course. I have worked in Early Years for 36 years.
I worked as a daily nanny and a 24 hour maternity nanny for 23 years abroad and in London.
In 2010 I trained as a Childminder and have run a successful Childminding business for 13 years.
