About Me
I have been a registered childminder for 34 years and wouldn't dream of doing anything else! Every child is unique, every day different. I have been married for 33 years and have two beautiful grown up daughters and 4 wonderful grandchildren. I live in the heart of Islington in a street property with garden. I am a non smoker and we don't have pets.
We are extremely lucky in the area with lots of drop in centres,
Stay and plays, parks, libraries and even a local farm All of which I use regularly. I am enthusiastic, energetic and enjoy having fun. I am a confident and caring childminder who likes to build a good relationship with my parents, we need to work together to give your child the best care.x
My Experience
Over the years I have looked after children with numerous needs and age group, from many different cultures and some to whom English is a second language. I have had the pleasure of looking after twin boys and most of my families tend to be long term, until child moves on to school.
If the family lives nearby I can pick up and drop off, parents find this helpful.

I can offer a place from newborn to school age.
Hours usually 8.30 till 5.30 but I can be flexible, looking after your child is not as regimented as say office work and things happen; days need changing, buses run late, or not at all!!

Gerry has been instrumental in the upbringing of our daughter for a little over a year. The only reason it wasn't longer is because we moved house and we couldn't force Gerry to move with us.
She has cared for our daughter Jasmine full time, filling the week with fun and stimulating activities, mixing with other kids, visits to parks, zoo, playgrounds, music class etc. Always sending pictures and videos to reassure and brighten your day.
She helped out with babysitting and was the person I could call in a panic for advice. She taught Jasmine essential skills and was incredibly vigilant in terms of her health-care and development.
Gerry is a no nonsense granny, in the best possible way; she genuinely loves kids and they adore her.
Full of love, humour and kindness, she has a wealth of experience and welcomed Jasmine into her family with open arms. I will never forget and be grateful for her constant support.
If you can get a place with Gerry you are very very lucky, she's a total Gem.

Gerry has been looking after our 3-year-old daughter Emma since she was only nine months and I am more than proud to recommend her. Her joyful, kind and loving personality made Emma feel settled and happy since the first day.
Gerry has been chilminding Emma 5 days per week full time, she took an active role in enhancing her education. Every day they would go to playgroups & parks (to the zoo & Trampoline Park too). Emma loves all the creative and fun activities they do together.
Gerry has helped with her language & social development, the daily interaction with other kids, encouraging good behaviour and kindness and teaching how to communicate her needs and feelings.
Daily communication with Gerry is excellent. She daily sends photos and videos of Emma and tells us how she has been that help us to feel involved with her care.
Gerry has been very important to us, she became part of our “chosen” family, and we feel so lucky Emma had such a loving and nurturing environment to grow.
I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy atmosphere is helping her develop into a confident and self assured little girl.
I would absolutely recommend Gerry as a great and reliable childminder.

Gerry has been childminding our daughter, Olivia, for two years and we have been incredibly happy with the care Olivia has received. Gerry has taken Olivia to playgroups and parks every day and often more than once a day.
Gerry’s no-nonsense approach has been great for us as first-time parents and for Olivia who has her stubborn moments. Gerry had no trouble in gaining Olivia’s trust and confidence and therefore encouraging very good behaviour and kindness to others, both skills which are important to us at home.
All in all, we are delighted to have been able to offer Olivia the comfort of going to such an experienced and loving childminder as Gerry and we have been rest assured that Olivia has been playing and interacting with other children as well. We feel like that is the best we could have given Olivia from both worlds. We are confident that Gerry has been a significant contributor in creating a good foundation for Olivia and that Gerry has been a key part of Olivia's development.
We would recommend Gerry as a very reliable childminder and she has always been there if we needed additional help.
