About Me
Hi, I'm Tanya, 37, I am a career nanny looking for a new role in the Bicester area, with the option of bringing my (very easygoing) two year old daughter with me.
I am very focused on children's emotional needs and wellbeing and strive to connect deeply with each child that I care for. I am fair and patient and I understand how to communicate with children in a way that makes them feel heard (and therefore makes our lives as caregivers easier!)
I believe that every toddler tantrum and slammed door is a vital opportunity for learning and growth (for us and for our children).
I like to cook (vegan or not vegan) and enjoy being outdoors and doing activities. I believe that life is nicer when you allow children to have responsibilities and be involved in what you're doing. I don't say "naughty" or "careful" and I do not use screens.
Becoming a parent myself has been very humbling, I now better understand how important it is to feel like your child is properly cared for and loved while you are apart from them and I am looking forward to being able to offer that to someone.

My Experience
I have 13 years of professional childcare experience, 9 of which are nannying (I have been with my current family for 5+ years). I have also worked as a nursery practitioner, an Au Pair (in the US) and a support worker (Barnados).
I have experience across all age groups from birth to 18 years but the majority of my experience is with under 8s. Most of my roles have been sole charge for 2-3 children but I have worked for families with up to five children.
I have experience working with children with additional needs and a good understanding of neurodivergence.
I have worked within a range of religious/cultural backgrounds with varied dietary requirements and customs.
My Qualifications
BSc in Psychology with Criminology (2:1)
For my Final Year Project I examined the relationship between pet ownership in children and emotional attitudes towards animals (copy available on request).
Paediatric First Aid.
Confident driver with own car, clean licence and business insurance.
Happy to undergo Ofsted registration.
My Availability
I am looking for a weekday role of approximately 25 hours over 3-4 days.
