About Me
Hi, I am Munchkinz Childminding Services, my name is Lisa. I have a lovely family of my own, 2 amazing children aged 20 and 14, my husband and 2 small pugs. I am OFSTED registered, PACEY member and have First aid and safeguarding training. Having 2 children of my own, I understand how difficult it can be to go to work, and have to leave your most precious person with a somewhat stranger. I offer my minded children a home from home environment, where they can feel comfortable and trusting, a place they can enjoy coming to, but also where they can thrive and develop, learning new skills along the way, not only for the benefit of the child but also for piece of mind for parents. All of my mindees become part of not only our minded family but also part of my own.
I have a very large, child friendly enclosed rear garden for use all year round. I also have a dedicated play room with en suite toilet and washing facilities. I provide a vast array of toys and equipment for children of all ages and stages and bring the children's interests into our everyday play to encourage learning and development.
We do lots of activities in my setting some of which are - Playdoh, Crafts, Sand and Water play, games and puzzles, cooking, work on learning numbers and alphabets, singing, story time, painting and colouring, and many more then I can list.
We are regularly out and about visiting places such as - Toddler groups, Farms, Nature walks, Parks, Colchester Zoo, Maldon, soft play centre, garden centres, Beaches in the summer, Shops, Museums, children’s festivals, fun day and the Library to name a few. I am also part of a close knit group of childminders who regularly meet to allow the children to play and socialise and make friends in larger groups of children.
My setting is family friendly and home from home, we have 2 pugs called Sheldon and Albert (who are very much part of our family), the children love taking them for walks and learn how to care for and respect animals and the world around them.
We keep ourselves constantly busy, and all our activities cover the EYFS, and in some way will assist with your child's learning and development. But the most important part is that your child offered an environment to make them feel nurtured, safe and happy and loved. Thanks.
My Experience
I have been registered and professionally Child minding for nearly 15 years but have had childcare experience all through my life, being the oldest of 4 siblings and taking care of my own 2.
I have had all the relevant training and Ofsted inspected, where I am pleased to report I received a Good rating. I have also had a RAG inspection carried out by NCMA, where I received a Green rating.
All my parents have been very pleased with the service they received and the children have very much enjoyed being with me, I am able to provide both past and present parent references if required, and a vast array of thank you and appreciation cards and messages, which is so lovely to share.
My Qualifications
I am Ofsted registered on the Early Years and Childcare registers. I am also a member of the PACEY.
I have Unit 1 of the ICP - Level 3 diploma and have completed all the relevant EYFS and Safeguarding courses. I also have a current Paediatric First Aid certificate.
I have attended various other childcare and provision improvement courses through PACEY and Essex County Council, including Level 2 in Safeguarding, Supporting the Unique Child, Quality provision for 0-3's, Understanding EYFS and Autistic Spectrum awareness. I am constantly updating and improving with courses and new skills, and any CPD necessary.
I have completed both Level 1 and 2 Food Hygiene and have been inspected and issued 5* hygiene rating certificate by Braintree District Council.
My Availability
My setting runs Monday - Thursday 8am - 5.30pm. I am registered for 6 under 8's and on the 8+ register. I do not currently run breakfast, after school provision and concentrate only on under 5s EYFS only at the moment.
My local school is Great Bradfords Infants and Nursery and Junior schools, but I do not currently offer this service.
Whilst I do not have much availability at the moment, things can change relatively quickly so please do call or message me to discuss your requirements.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour

Funding accepted with a £3 a day sustainability fee, all hours over funded hours are charged as below :
£6.00 per hour (between 8am-5.30pm)
£6.50 per hour term time only contracts
Minimum 6 hour sessions depending on times and availability

My son (1yr) has only been with Lisa for a short time, but she makes me feel really relaxed leaving him with her! She is always updating me on how he is getting on throughout the day, provides information on food, naps, toilet and uploads lots of pictures of their activities and fun they have.
Lisa is a really lovely person and soo easy to talk to. She is really honest and always accommodating for your needs.

My child - E, has been attending munchkins since he was 1, he is now 4, and absolutely loves it here. It’s a lovely clean home from home for him, and Lisa has become a big part of his life.
Lisa uses an app to keep us updated in depth day to day and we get regular pictures and updates. They go on fab days out and trips together too. I could not feel more secure going to work and leaving him with her, I know he is safe and happy.
Because the setting is Lisa’s home, E gets to spend time with her children and pets which he greatly enjoys.
E is a little different from other children, and Lisa has been wonderfully helpful in ensuring we understand him, and supporting us to get the help for him that he needs.
We now send our youngest there, T, and she is 10 months old. She is also really enjoying her days with Lisa. I know that when E starts school he will really miss Lisa and everything that she offers him, I really couldn’t have chosen better childcare.

Lisa has been childminding my son C (15 months) since January 2018. She looks after him for 2 days each week.
I have been extremely happy with the care C has received, and the great progress he has made whilst in Lisa’s care. Lisa’s home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and C has great fun playing with all the toys available and with the other children in her care. Beyond all this though, it is Lisa’s warm, fun and friendly but no-nonsense approach which sets her apart from other childminders we have experienced.
She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outings & meeting up with other childminders at play groups. C has recently enjoyed reading and puzzles as well as outings to the park and trips to the zoo.
Lisa is a great communicator and has no trouble encouraging good behaviour and kindness and compassion to others, both skills which are very important to us at home. When C is hurt or feeling under the weather I know that he feels happy to be comforted by her and I am confident that she can administer either first aid or medication following all the correct procedures and completing the necessary records to ensure his health and safety.
Lisa completes an online diary detailing what C has done each day accompanied by pictures and the occasional video. From this I have a complete picture of his whole day including what he has eaten, how long he has slept and all his activities. This helps me to feel involved with his care and that I can talk to him about his day.
All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care C receives and I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy environment is helping him develop into a confident and self-assured little boy.
I would absolutely recommend Lisa as a great and reliable childminder.
