My Summary
About Me
I’m a passionate and hard-working Art and Textile teacher
Teaching and fashion have always been part of my life and work while and after I graduated from my Ba Fashion. I currently work both as a teacher in Pattern-Cutting, Fashion Design, Textile, and Art and as a Freelancer. This balance between teaching and freelancing has been really useful to keep up to date with the fast-changing industry which fashion can be.
I love sharing my passion with individuals looking to develop their creative abilities and build their portfolios for college or university applications.
My different teaching experiences online and in classes have contributed towards the development of creative teaching strategies to explore student's passion, willingness to learn, and create an engaging learning environment.
One of my greatest strengths is to push students to seek an understanding of what they create, how they perceive the world around them, and the work they produce in relation to it. By nurturing each student's creative process and intelligence I am able to meet their unique needs and create a favorable work environment. Each student is encouraged to enhance their own personal skills through one-to-one support. my goal is to support students by developing their motivation, creativity, and skills while showing them how art relates to political, economic, and environmental issues.
I practice my creative skill by working on different freelance projects and collaborating with artists continuously extending my industry experience. I am passionate about the making of fashion and the traditional craft. I cultivate an interest in plants and natural dyes. My range of skills and my strong knowledge of modern cultural references and the history of art support each student to develop meaningful projects with unique references.
I am currently in my first year of part-time PGCE training while working as a tutor in residence for the art department in St George’s School Ascot. I am really enjoying this position and teaching GCSE and A-levels but equally the pastoral duties coming along with the residency position. Along with this position, I teach art and design for different institutions and work during my free time on freelance projects with artists and designers.
