My Summary

My Experience

I completed a full time 2-year course at the Chiltern College, covering the care and education of children from birth to 16 years of age, in which I graduated with a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in childcare and education in July 2013. I also worked towards the Chiltern Nanny and Childcare Award, which required me to demonstrate a range of skills and knowledge over and above the requirement of the diploma. This included a wider range of practical placements, a range of professional and creative skills for working with young children, an ability to cook for and with children, and the creation of a range of resources for use with children. I received this award after 6 months of work following my graduation. Throughout the 2 year course, I was provided with in-depth theoretical training, covering all aspects needed to work with children such as Child Development, Play and Activities, Child Health, Health and Safety, and Working with Families. From this, I have been able to use my knowledge and experience to give children the best care possible as a qualified childcare practitioner. Since becoming qualified I worked in a Nursery for 1 year and then went onto Nannying in London. I worked in London for 2 years having sole charge of 2 children and had full responsibility of their Daily Routine. After two years in this role I felt I wanted to get more experience with younger children. I got another full time Nanny job caring for a one year old boy. Since starting this role, he has had a little sister. I worked alongside mum in the time she was on maternity leave so have good experience with new born babies. When the mum returned to work I then became sole charge nanny for both of the children. Cooking is a passion of mine and I think providing children with nutritional balanced meals is extremely important. I take pride in cooking a variety of meals and encourage children to be adventurous with trying new foods and flavours. Over the years I’ve become more confident in not only cooking a wide variety of meals for the children but also for the parents. It has now been 13 years since I qualified as a chiltern Nanny and I still find the job incredibly rewarding. As I’ve gained more experience and confidence throughout my career, many of my roles have also progressed into being the family chef and carrying out PA jobs too. This included cooking for the parents every evening (if this fits with the children’s schedule) liaising with workers to come to house, dropping off/ picking up parcels, waking the family dog, taking car to garage etc. I am more than happy carrying out other jobs aside from childcare to make the parents life easier when they return home from a busy day! I am looking forward to becoming an integral part to another family helping their children grow and develop in a fun, educational and loving environment.

My Availability

I am currently still working as a full time Nanny however looking to start a new role in January 2027 in the Buckinghamshire area. I am available to do long days Monday - Thursday and preferably a shorter day on a Friday
