Hello my name is Lorraine Cordwell. I am bilingual English/Spanish. I have two daughters of my own who are now 19 and 15. I started working as a registered childminder in 2015 running my own business from my home and I’ve recently started working as a nanny. I am passionate about what I do and I welcome children of all different backgrounds with open arms. I love working with children and your child's happiness and safety will always be my priority!
My Experience
I registered in March 2015 after doing all the necessary training to become a Childminder. I have worked with children of all ages from 6 months including twins.

My daughter who is 19 and at University (back for the summer) is mature & responsible and she’s available for BABYSITTING at £10.50 per hour. Background:
Lorraine joined our family primarily as a nanny to my eldest daughter (aged 5) before and after school and during school holidays. Lorraine also provided nanny support for my younger daughters (1, 3) including nursery drop offs and picks ups, caring for the children when they were ill, providing meals and general help and support / household support.
Review:
Lorraine has been phenomenal - she developed a very close bond with my daughters due to her calming, fun, caring and sensitive nature. In particular, I would highlight:
- Reliability: Lorraine was always very reliable, completely trustworthy and excellent with the children
- Calm: our home could be quite busy and loud with 3 young children. Lorraine added a sense of calm, never seeming flappable and always calmly caring for the children
- Caring: Lorraine is absolutely wonderful with children, from babies to school age. My children adore her, and she developed a strong bond with them
- Excellent activities: Lorraine would create amazing activities, in particular arts and crafts (making these really fun and unique, and very tailored to my children). Lorraine also brought my daughter to the park, to the swimming pool, out on her scooter etc. She always kept busy, but also understands when a child is tired and needs calmer time
- Experienced: Lorraine is clearly very experienced with children, and I would ask her advice and guidance on certain things which I really appreciated
Summary:
We are so, so sad to say goodbye to Lorraine. We are moving to Ireland, and wish we could bring her with us!! She has been an absolutely star, the best nanny we could have wished for. Any family will be very lucky to welcome Lorraine.

Lorraine is a great childminder. She has been looking after my three year old twin boy and girl for the last 10 months and she always keeps the children entertained and happy.
She is nice, caring and honest with genuine interest in children. In the morning she always welcomes the children with a big smile, and in the evening they often come back home with some little toys she shares with them. Lorraine together with her family create warm and friendly environment for the children. She encourages the children speech and social skills by taking them to different playgroups so they can interact with other children. They often go out to local parks and libraries.
Lorraine keeps me updated by sending photos and she writes a daily log of what they have been doing, which is a joy to read at the end of the week.
