Childminder in London: Hounslow
My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is June, and I am a proud Ofsted-registered childminder with a genuine passion for providing children with a safe, happy, and nurturing environment where they can learn, play, and thrive.
As a mother of two grown-up children and a grandmother to five granddaughters and one grandson, aged between 4 and 17, I have many years of hands-on experience caring for children of all ages. Watching children grow in confidence, develop new skills, and reach important milestones is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
I am a non-smoker and live in a cosy two-bedroom terraced home with a secure, child-friendly back garden. The outdoor play area is filled with exciting activities, including a sand and water table, a mud kitchen, Little Tikes cars, and a variety of outdoor toys that encourage exploration, creativity, and active play. We also have a front garden for additional outdoor enjoyment.
Our family includes Rosie, my friendly Poochon, who is five years old. Rosie is wonderful with children, but their safety always comes first. During childminding hours, she mostly stays upstairs and is never left alone with the children. Stair gates are fitted to ensure she has her own separate space.
Every day is filled with opportunities to learn through fun and engaging activities. We enjoy cooking, messy play, arts and crafts, storytelling, singing, and imaginative play. We also love getting out into the community, regularly visiting local playgroups, libraries, soft play centres, and beautiful outdoor spaces such as Osterley Park and Richmond Park, where children can explore nature, develop social skills, and enjoy fresh air.
I became a childminder because I truly love working with children. There is nothing more rewarding than supporting their learning, celebrating their achievements, and helping them become happy, confident, and independent little people.
I believe that building strong partnerships with parents is essential. By working closely together, we can provide the best possible care and support for your child, ensuring they feel secure, valued, and encouraged every step of the way.
I understand that choosing childcare is one of the biggest decisions a family can make, and leaving your child with someone new can feel overwhelming. My aim is to make that transition as smooth and reassuring as possible by creating a warm, welcoming, and caring environment where both children and parents feel comfortable, supported, and confident.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child into my setting and becoming part of your family's journey.
My Experience
Qualifications and Experience
I am an Ofsted-registered childminder and have successfully completed the CYPOP5 (Understand How to Set Up a Home-Based Childcare Service) qualification, along with a Paediatric First Aid certificate. I regularly update my training to ensure I provide the highest standards of care and remain up to date with current childcare guidance and safeguarding requirements.
Before becoming a childminder, I enjoyed a successful career with the NHS, where I worked for over 30 years in procurement. My role involved purchasing a wide range of medical equipment and supplies, as well as preparing financial reports and monitoring departmental budgets. This career helped me develop excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, which continue to benefit me in my childminding setting today.
Alongside my professional experience, I have a lifetime of personal experience caring for children. I have raised my own two children, who are now adults with families of their own, and I am a proud grandmother to six wonderful grandchildren. I also come from a large family with five brothers and have many nieces and nephews whom I helped care for while they were growing up. Today, I am delighted to also spend time caring for some of their children.
These experiences have given me a wealth of knowledge and confidence in caring for children of all ages. I understand that every child is unique, and I am committed to providing a nurturing, stimulating, and supportive environment where each child can flourish at their own pace.
I am happy to provide references from both current and previous families, giving you reassurance and confidence in the care I provide.
