Hello, my name is Gillian Brand. I am a fully qualified childcare practitioner running Little Giraffes Childcare from my home in Duloch. I am married with two teenage sons and a daughter who is nearly nine.

I pride myself on creating a cosy, family-like environment where children are welcomed with warmth and care. As a devoted mum with high standards, I am committed to supporting each child’s learning and development through playful, engaging experiences. Working closely with parents, I offer a nurturing, flexible service tailored to your child’s individual needs and your expectations.

Children in my care enjoy a wide range of experiences, including outdoor adventures like forest and beach walks, park visits, and local explorations. I also organise meet-ups with other childminders, giving little ones the chance to socialise and make friends.

Healthy, wholesome meals and snacks are always on offer, prepared with the children’s tastes and preferences in mind.

I am proud to be a Partnership Provider with Fife Council, offering the 1140 hours of Funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) for eligible 2-year-olds and all 3 and 4-year-olds. You can choose to split these hours between nursery and myself, or use them entirely with me, giving you flexibility and choice.

I am registered with the Care Inspectorate, and I was delighted to receive a Grade 6 (Excellent) for care, play, and learning at my most recent inspection (July 2025) — something I’m very proud of. I am also an insured member of the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA).
