My Requirements

We are looking for a reliable after-school nanny/family helper for Monday to Friday during term time.

The main requirement would be collecting our two younger children from the same school in Haynes — our 4-year-old from preschool at 3.20pm and our 8-year-old from school at 3.30pm.

On Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, we would need someone to look after them until around 4.30pm, when their dad will be home. This could simply involve bringing them home, giving them a snack and helping them settle after school, or perhaps taking them to the park for a little while if the weather is nice. We’re very relaxed about what these afternoons look like — we mainly want someone warm and dependable who the children feel comfortable with.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, after collecting both children, our 8-year-old needs to be driven to her gymnastics club in Leighton Buzzard for 4.15pm, so these afternoons would involve a little more driving.

As driving is an important part of the role, we would need someone with a full driving licence, their own reliable car, and who is confident transporting children.

The hours are relatively short, but we can offer a regular Monday–Friday term-time commitment. Reliability is very important to us, particularly on the gymnastics days, and we’re hoping to find someone kind, trustworthy and easy-going who the children can get to know well.

If you are looking for a few more hours and would be happy to help with some light housekeeping, we would also be very open to discussing an earlier start on some or all of the afternoons. This could include things like tidying, light cleaning or simple meal preparation before the school run.
