Hello, my name is Jodie, we live in an area of outstanding natural beauty between Folkestone and Hawkinge with our friendly spaniels.
We have a purpose built playroom in our garden which has underfloor heating, kitchen, bathroom, indoor apparatus with slide and a big selection of toys, games and activities. Outside there is an enclosed garden with artificial grass in which there is a lovely outdoor kitchen, home made water play wall, ball shoots and larger climbing apparatus for year round play as well as lots of resources for balancing, climbing and having fun. We have 3/4 of an acre of garden and go on nature walks around the grounds. We can see/hear horses, cows, geese and sheep in neighbouring fields, there is always something to talk about and explore!
We also have an additional outdoor space with an adjoining second garden with more of a woody rustic feel, it has lots to explore, a rope bridge, bamboo xylophone, a twig wam house, gardening area, a teletubby hill with a big slide built in to it, a bird feeding station, tree stumps and long branches to sit on, trees for shade and to run around under, we build pretend fires, plant flowers, have music and story time up there, and so much more.
I work with an amazing, loving and caring team, two or three of us work together each day depending on numbers and really enjoy what we do.
My Experience
I have been working in childcare since my children were born as I wanted a career to fit around them. For over 10 years I managed all the crèches for the Dover and Folkestone Children's Centres.
I have now been childminding at home for over 12 years, we have lots of activities going on throughout the day with never a dull moment!
My Qualifications
I have NVQ 4 in Childcare, learning and development
paediatric first aid
Safeguarding inc designated person

I cannot recommend Jodie and her team highly enough. Returning to work when my son was just 7 months old was difficult, but Jodie and her team made the transition so much easier for both of us.
One of the things that reassured me most was that my son never cried when I dropped him off. On the occasional morning when he was tired or a little unsettled after a poor night's sleep, the staff would comfort and cuddle him after drop-off, and it was clear that he formed a secure and healthy bond with them very quickly. Knowing he felt safe, happy, and cared for gave me real peace of mind.
I particularly appreciated the smaller, quieter setting. My son has since moved on to a much larger nursery due to his age, and settling there has taken considerably longer. I am very grateful that Jodie was able to provide such a nurturing environment for him during his baby years.
Communication was always excellent. The team kept me fully updated on his naps and feeds and they were always reassuring and helpful whenever I had questions. It was obvious that they genuinely enjoyed spending time with him. Every morning he was greeted with big smiles and a warm welcome, which meant so much to me as a parent.
Thank you to Jodie and her wonderful team for providing such loving, attentive care during an important stage of my son's life. I will always be grateful for the support, kindness, and reassurance they gave our family.

Our DS has just moved onto a nursery so he can have experience with lots of older children now he is 3. He started going to Jodie's regularly just before the first lockdown. We were impressed with Jodie's communication and the arrangements around the covid restrictions and think the balance was right.
Our DS soon settled and went in happily every morning after receiving a warm and friendly welcome from Jodie or one of her team. At hometime he would be very excited to tell us about the things he had seen and done in the day. He would often repeat phrases he must have picked up from the adults and these gave a lovely insight to the conversations that might have occurred about kindness, sharing and pasta Wednesdays.
We can't thank Jodie enough for giving us the feeling that our little one was looked after, understood and happy during his time there and all of this in such a beautiful setting, with a well gritted driveway in winter!

I can't recommend Jodie's enough, it was such a wonderful place for our son, even if it was only for a short time.
Our son settled in so quickly and couldn't have been happier. We saw such a change in his development whilst he was there too. Everyone was so lovely and warm to him and us and the place is perfect, I'm not sure I've seen as good a outside space at any nursery or childminders.
Once again, I can't recommend Jodie's enough and it was a sad day when we had leave.
