Welcome to Little Rocks Playhouse!
My name is Helen Rock and I am an Ofsted registered childminder rated Outstanding by Ofsted for a second time in March 2022. I have been a Nursery Nurse since leaving school. I have the NNEB and a HND in Early Childhood Studies. My husband works in Windsor full time and we live in Eton Wick with our 2 children. My son is 16 and my daughter is 13, and attend school and college full time. We are part of a large extended family.
We live in a comfortable semi detached house with a large garden. We have a wooden playhouse, mud kitchen, JCB, little tikes car, tents, paddling pool, trikes, scooters, play kitchen, work bench, everything! The children regularly plant and help to take care of their seedlings.
I follow the Early Years curicculum using play based learning, indoors and outdoors.
We attend the local library story sessions as well as several playgroups weekly. We have 2 parks within walking distance, I am a National Trust member and we visit many more within the Windsor and Eton area.
We enjoy the fresh air every day. My husband,son and myself have advanced DBS checks.
My Experience
Before childminding I spent almost 25 years working in Day Nurseries, holiday clubs and schools across London and Berkshire.

N.N.E.B.
HND in Early Childhood Studies (Greenwich University)
First Aid (updated every 3 years)
Child Protection (updated every 2-3yrs).
Food Hygiene Level 2
Supporting 2yr olds in the Eyfs
I undertake ongoing training throughout my career.
My Availability
Monday to Thursday. From 8am to 5.30pm .
Term time only may be possible, with a retainer fee/seperate rate.

Our daughter has been attending for 5 years now, starting around 1 year old through until school, and now in school holidays. Little Rocks has been a home from home for Isabella, but with the professional care, structure, learning and development activities that are so important. We didn't want a large nursery, we wanted a smaller more attentive setting, where our daughter could form real bonds and be happy and comfortable. She always came home happy, usually having enjoyed a trip or a visit, followed by different activities. Everything was always tailored for her age. Most of all we never had a single worry, or concern, leaving our daughter in Helens care. Highly recommended.

Helen cared for my child for 4 years, her warm and friendly approach within her family home was exactly what we were looking for. My son always enjoyed going to her house, they always went out and did lots of exciting trips as well as lots of home play and learning. I was always amazed at the amount my son learnt and i really trusted Helens approach with him and the other children. Her experience really shines through and her Outstanding Ofsted rating is spot on.
I highly recommend Helen to anyone- she really is brilliant!
