Hi, My name is Jo, I'm originally from Leicester and have been in Dorset / Devon for 15 years.
My hobbies include, walking, and open water swimming.
I am presently working in residential care for girls aged 11-17 years and am looking for around 25+ hours per week, permanent position in Dorchester and surrounding areas. I would prefer this to be daytimes, during the week Please contact me with you requirements.
My Experience
I have 25 years experience in various roles of childcare. I have experience with children aged 0 – 16 yrs, but my main focus has been 0-10 yrs.
I have recently worked as a nanny caring for two children ages 7 and 11 years, collecting them from school, taking them out to activities, such as swimming as well as providing activities in the home, such a baking and crafts. Preparing and cooking their meals, helping with homework and reading and providing occasional babysitting. I have also worked previously as a nanny having sole care of 3 children aged 2, 5 and 7 years. I have worked within a team in a nursery setting and as a Play Specialist in a hospital. I have also worked within Social Care, caring for disadvantaged children. I have worked in two school settings, one of which was with children with special educational need and disabilities. (SEND).
I spent 10 years working in Children Centres, running both fun and educational
groups for young children and their parents, as well as working as a Family Outreach Worker supporting parents and their families one to one in their homes. Along side my mo recent nanny post i worked for Action for Children as a Parenting Practitioner, providing parenting support, via a Parenting course that I delivered in both a group setting and on a 1-1 basis.
I have an excellent knowledge of child development and lots of ideas for imaginative play and learning experiences and I am able to provide good quality care for your child.
