About Me
My name is Sophie and I am 28 years old. I am a full-time teacher, in my fourth year of teaching and in Year 1, which I absolutely love! I have always been passionate about working with children and have enjoyed over 10 years of experience with a range of different ages and needs. I do not have any of my own children yet but am lucky enough to have some nieces and nephews who are great fun and are always taking me on plenty of adventures! I love spending time outdoors, exploring new places and getting out on my paddle board.
My Experience
I began my childcare career working in a nursery - predominantly in the 2 year old room that I was in charge of leading. During these years, I gained my Level 3 in Early Years and started my Foundation Degree in Early Years. I then became a nanny for a 2 year old and newborn baby, and had an amazing few years watching them grow and develop before the oldest began school. During the nannying years, I gained a first class Honours degree in Early Years and decided to take the next step and begin my teacher training. Being a nanny was an incredible job and I gained so much experience from being in a home setting and having the opportunity to play a part in the children's development whilst working closely with the parents. As much as I was sad to end this position, I was excited for my new journey in teaching and I am very grateful to still get to spend lots of time with my nannying family. I am now a fully qualified teacher and have recently started private tutoring.
My Qualifications
Level 6 BA Honours Degree in Early Years
Qualified Teacher Status / Post Graduate Certificate in Education
My Availability
I am available for occasional babysitting in the evenings and on some weekends.
I would also consider helping out during school holidays where possible.
I may also be able to offer private tutoring for primary aged children.

Sophie has been with us as a full time nanny housekeeper since February and we are hoping she will stay with us part time for the foreseeable future from Jan ( if I could have justified keeping her full time forever I would but my son is starting nursery!). Sophie is 100% reliable, trustworthy, efficient, enthusiastic and has fitted in really well with our family. I have a newborn and a nearly 2 year old so she works along side me some of the time and also does sole care for both children. She is very calm and consistent with behaviour for my son which he has really benefitted from and most importantly he really enjoys himself - they often go out in the morning and he always comes back full of beans! I would not hesitate in recommending Sophie!
