About Me
Hi my name is Kate.I have over 35 years experience working with children of all ages. Early positions include mothers help with newborn and live in nanny roles. I have two grown up)children of my own. I am a very loving and caring person who can provide security and calmness as well as being fun. I believe being a mother has given me greater experience being a nanny. I love being creative as well as a confident cook who provide healthy and tasty meals. My interests include getting out and about with my dog, cooking and spending time with my many friends. I have my own car and a clean drivers licence. I love to read and belong to a book club.
My Experience
I have vast experience with children of all ages. One of my early positions was running a children's holiday club whilst working on the Greek Island of Rhodes. I have had positions as a live in nanny as well as a daily nanny. Since having my own children (26 & 28 ) I have child minded an 8 month old baby and worked in a school assisting a child with speech and language problems,this was one of my longest positions working along side him from reception to year 6. Whilst working at the school I also enjoyed working as teaching assistant, where I would work with small groups of children doing maths and literacy activities as well one to one reading. This has given me some fantastic skills when assisting children to read and enjoy books. My last role was working as a nanny to two small boys 2 and 4 . I was with the family for 18 months,3 days a week in Walton on Thames. Duties included,school runs,shopping,cooking,fun activities,outings, arranging play dates and all nursery duties. I loved being part of the family but unfortunately the family relocated overseas due to work commitments.
I’ve been in my current role since October 2014. At the time,there was one boy 18months. In August 2016 his little sister was born. I primarily still had sole charge of the eldest child but did assist mum with the baby, until she returned to work when the baby was around 4 months. I’ve been very much part of the family and enjoyed the last nine and a bit years.
I have personal and professional references available.
My Qualifications
I am NNEB trained as well as holding a City and Guild certificate for Community care, which includes child and human development.
My Availability
I currently have two options.
Option one. To find a nanny role that will run along side my present employment. Therefore, I would like find a one or two day position, preferably on Monday and/or Wednesday. Am seeking full days, up to 12 hours.
Option 2. A three day nanny role as my only employment. I would prefer to keep my Fridays free as I sometimes travel to see my parents.
