About Me
We live in Chigwell, Essex with our 29 year-old son who is autistic and has limited speech. He is a gentle and loving young man who is quite small for his age. We have been very fortunate to have had a brilliant long term team of people working with him on a daily basis to help with his education, physical wellbeing and independence skills (we are also about to re-introduce speech and language input under the guidance of a consultant). However due to life circumstances we now have a vacancy available.
My Requirements
Live out Carer / Companion with Special Needs Experience required in Chigwell, Essex
We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic and reliable person to join our existing team on a long-term basis. We are offering regular hours each week.
Applicants need to have special needs experience, must have a clean DBS or be willing to have one undertaken, a non-smoker/vapes and have a full UK driving licence and their own car. Our son is also epileptic (although his seizures are infrequent) so first aid skills would be beneficial but it is not essential as we will provide necessary training. It is also important that you like dogs as we have two.

We have employed Alex the past couple of months to engage and interact with our 21 year old autistic son. Alex has always been punctual and reliable. He is very friendly and always does his best.

It's a real shame that Mary didn't turn up for the interview we had arranged today with me, my husband, our home program supervisor and lead tutor (which was also confirmed via text last night!) We have waited all day for her to respond to a text and voice message enquiring what happened but she has not replied so unfortunately I feel I have no choice but to share our experience with other families :(
