I am highly motivated and committed to providing the best provision for each individual student.
I have an additional capability to work with students with an autism spectrum condition and associated behavioural / emotional difficulties and barriers to learning.
Previously, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, my staff management and staff development skills have been effectively utilised through a process of staff appraisals, work scrutiny and CPD training to raise standards of teaching and learning.
I have been avidly committed to working with children and young adults throughout my career and relish their successes wholeheartedly. It is my aim to continue to do so!
My Experience
I am an education specialist with 30 years’ experience in the field of secondary education.
I have taught in a wide variety of secondary schools including co-educational / monastic mainstream settings for 20 years, as well as an independent Special Educational Needs environment for students with a diagnosis of Autism and the PDA profile for 10 years.
I have been successfully employed as a classroom teacher, Head of Year, Head of Department (English), Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher.
My Qualifications
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), QTS, and a Post Graduate Master of Education Degree (Autism: Children).
