My Requirements

AFTER SCHOOL HELP - TERM TIME, TUESDAYS - STARTING ASAP IN SEPT 2026

We are looking for help during term time with our two girls (G10 and G6) after school on Tuesdays. The hours are 3.45pm - 7.15/30pm - to start ASAP in September. In additional to Tuesdays, we'd be able to offer extra hours on a more flexible basis, as well as evening babysitting.

The role would involve collecting the girls from their school in the West End, walking them home (we live less than 10 mins walk away from school), helping with homework, preparing simple food for the kids' dinner, tidying/clearing up, overseeing playtime and bath-time, as well as having fun with the children.

Our son (B12) is in secondary school. He is fairly independent (ie he walks back from school himself) but he may also be at home on a Tuesday afternoon. He attends an after school club on Tuesday evening. So the role may sometimes include accompanying him on the subway to the club (which is in the city centre).

Sometimes myself or my husband might be working from home - but often we will be out of the house, so this would be a sole charge role.

All our children are naturally outgoing, chatty and sociable - and tend to form lovely bonds with whoever helps look after them.

We also have a family dog - a very good-natured working cocker spaniel, so you need to be happy to be around dogs (and a real love of dogs is a bonus!)

There's no requirement to drive - but being a driver would be a plus.

Ideally we are keen to find someone seeking employment through the full academic year - who can broadly commit to regular Tuesday weekly slots during term time until summer 2027 (or beyond!).

Overall we are looking for someone who is kind, calm, patient and dependable - but also fun-loving and energetic with a genuine love of primary school age kids. Initiative and enthusiasm are really important as we're looking for someone willing to just muck in with our happy but busy household.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Native / fluent English speaker
- Available Tuesdays 3.45 - 7.30pm
- Up for extra hours / evening babysitting (on an ad hoc basis)
- Proven experience with primary school age children - as a paid babysitter, nanny, after school helper, or working in a kids' club or school in some capacity
- 2 x written references from previous childcare roles - this could include as a babysitter to neighbours or family friends (only required following a successful interview)
- Comfortable around dogs
- Drivers license a bonus
