About Me
Hello! I'm Ema and I've been working with children since 2005. I started out in a nursery and left after 10 years to be a nanny. I've had the pleasure of being part of some lovely families.
I took a break from nannying to work in care but I’d like to get back into nannying asap.
I love to be outdoors come rain or shine, snow is my favourite weather! I also love to get messy so anything ranging from corn flour play to paints to playing with spaghetti and baked beans, it's all part of the fun! I try to find unique activities to keep young minds busy but helping them learn at the same time.
I try to take a calm approach to behaviour, using different methods to keep situations under control. I don't like to use time out, instead suggesting a story or a different activity to redirect attention.
I have a few hobbies that fill my spare time, my main one being crochet. I also enjoy country walks with my rescue Springer Spaniel.
Back to more relevant things....I'm very punctual, clean and tidy. I try my best to leave a tidy home when I leave so parents are not needing to clear up after I've gone. I'll help out with odd jobs such as hanging family washing or picking up some food shopping, but the children come first and if I don't get time I'm sure you'd understand!
My Experience
I have worked with children from 0-6 years old for 13+ years. I have taken a 3 year gap to work in care after my last position came to an end.
I have experience with special educational needs and have a lot of training on various courses such as behaviour and speech and language development.
Whilst working as a Nanny i have enjoyed the freedom to go out and have fun with the children, without having to fill in a bit of paperwork. I have planned exciting days out to see animals, trains and suits of amour, catering for all interests within the household.
As a Nanny I am punctual, reliable, and dedicated to giving children opportunities to learn about the world around them. I love watching children explore and learn whilst having fun and making memories for years to come.
I worked in a nursery for many years and used to manage a team of 5 people on a daily basis. I was responsible for the smooth running of things, sometimes acting as manager, and although I enjoyed it, the move to Nannying was the best thing I did. It got me back to working with children, not sitting in an office doing paperwork!
Alongside planning fun and interesting activities, I did a range of things to help children feel at home whilst in my care. I enjoy reading stories, The Gruffalo being one of my favourites, having cosy cuddles, singing and acting out rhymes,and getting very messy!
My Qualifications
Cache Diploma in Childcare (level 3)
Cache Level 2 in Play work
Various training courses also completed on different aspects of childcare
