My Summary

My Experience

My experience within childcare has mostly been in the Baby room with ages of 3 months to 2 years. I have had over 5 children as a key person, working in partnership with parents as well as working alongside my colleagues; sharing information about the child such a dietary requirements, sleep habbits and the child’s routine etc. Also, meeting the child’s care routine such as nappy changing, preparing bottles and feeds.

I was given a great role of being Deputy Room Leader at my previous work, for being very reliable, hardworking and making great connections with parents of the children i looked after.

I have recently done Nannying for a family with twin girls from the age of 4 months to 1 year, then i left for maternity leave and they started fulltime nursery. This was the first family i had done nanying for and I really enjoyed my time working alongside their mother everyday and helping her create a routine for her children as well as start the weaning journey with her and support her through daily tasks. I provided activities and play experiences for the children, based on their age and stage of development (within the EYFS framework) to meet their milestones and went on walks as well as park days out.

I also have used “tiny talk” within my nursery work in the baby room and implemented it with my own children from a young age to be able to communicate “milk”, “please”, “thankyou” ,“more”, “nappy” etc this helps the child to start communicating with the adult using signs and gestures and also understanding of what may happen next such as signing “nappy” before changing them, very much used in our nursery setting.
