Dear family,
My name is Silvia. I am a very loving, affectionate, encouraging and friendly Ofsted Registered Childminder.
I am offering a BILINGUAL childminding setting (ENGLISH-SPANISH) in Hellesdon, where I live with my partner and our little boy born in January 2020. I also speak other languages (Catalan and Portuguese) and I am happy to help your child with either of them if you wish. I believe that learning languages at a young age has many benefits for children and their development, like improving memory, concentration and listening skills.
I have the ability to identify children's physical, educational, social and emotional needs by providing a warm, caring environment along with stimulating play and learning activities.
I have a calm approach at all times and understand that it is important to get down to children´s eye level when talking to them as well as having an open body language.
I have First Aid certification. I feel it is important to have this knowledge when working with children, as it can save their lives.
I am an excellent cook (I cook from fresh and with a lot of variety of food, including fruit and vegetables every day).
I provide all the meals, included in the price.
Sharing, turn taking, learning to play with others and caring for others are some of the benefits your child will gain with me and my son.
Music, songs, stories, construction, water, sand, cooking, arts&crafts, drawing and painting, physical play, mud kitchen, cars, slide, are some of the things your child will enjoy in my setting.
I also have a little allotment where we grow beans, tomatoes, sweet corn, carrots and strawberries. Your child will learn to plant fruit and vegetables, to grow them, and then we will eat them, learning their properties and promoting a healthy diet.
My Experience
I have been working with children for more than 10 years. I have extensive experience as a childcare provider, starting from my high school days, as a part-time babysitter to five professional nanny positions in London. I worked with children from newborn to 7 years old. I undertook multi-functional tasks including:
• All nursery duties, daily cooking and scheduling.
• Providing the child social and emotional support.
• Promoted good behaviours by using the positive reinforcement method.
• Maintained the kid friendly environment with engagind activities and continuous access to the outdoors.
• Sparked creativity and imagination by helping him discover new things each day.
My Qualifications
- Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home-Based Childcare
- Introduction to Child Protection & Safeguarding Children
- Emergency First Aid for Baby and Child Certificate (12h)
- DBS Enhanced (updated service)
- Bachelor Honour Degree: Psychology
- Master Degree: Diagnosis of Early Childhood
- Course Psychomotor Skills in Children.
My Availability
Monday to Friday (5 days a week).
Open from 8:00am to 6:00pm, with flexibility.
Currently full on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
8:00am to 6:00pm --> £50 (£5 per hour)
8:00am to 4:00pm --> £40 (£5 per hour)
Everything in included in the price, except nappies.
I provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Water and milk.

Silvia is very honest, trustworthy and reliable professional and a person I fully trust to care for my son.
I have seen Silvia with lots of different children and I feel that she definitely has the qualities you look for in someone to take care of your most precious treasures. The children adore her as she is very approachable, funny, patient, dedicated, always happy to help. She has a lot of knowledge and experience and has been always willing to help us when I needed some advice.
We had an issue with our son this year due to the pandemic and she worked with us to see how we could make it better all together. Her expertise and support was invaluable.
We have complete peace of mind when leaving our some under Silvia's care and we do recommend her with all our hearts.

I was always delighted with Sílvia performance. She has a lovely, warm way with children. She is fun and kind and energetic and they were always happy to hear that she was coming to 'play'. She is very pro-active and had always arranged a fun activity for the kids. They would go off to the library, to play dates, to the park. She was very popular with other nannies in the area so they would arrange to get together and the children would play together very happily.
She also cooks nutritious, tasty meals for the kids.
Silvia is warm, kind, affectionate, fun, full of energy. A delightful presence to be surrounded. Very sociable, friendly and engaging. Unlike other nannies, who prefer to keep themselves to themselves, she was very chatty and outgoing with the mothers and nannies alike. I really liked the way she cared for the kids in her charge. She was kind and warm, tender, attentive and caring and they clearly adored her.
She is very alert to dangers and risk-aware.
We still keep in contact with Sílvia.
I think that Silvia would be a brilliant childminder for any age group. She clearly loves babies and is wonderful with toddlers. She has endless patience, and genuinely enjoys the company of small people.
