My name is Debbie, I'm 33 years old and I have been working in childcare for a wonderful 13 years now! Ive worked as an elf in Finland (Ding Dong Debbie the elf was my name!), a nanny in America, worked on ski resorts in kids/baby clubs and been manager of a baby room for several years. I am a very active, bubbly, funny person! I have a great imagination and I'm always inventing exciting, educational activities. I take a great deal of pride in my work, I'm a hard worker, always smiling and dedicated to assisting children's in their development.
I work in the mental health field currently, but would be able to do babysitting in the evening or at weekends. Please do reach out for more info! I am based in Battle, but I have a car also.
My Experience
I have a level 3 in childcare. For two years I worked as a baby room supervisor in a nursery. I then went onto working as a children's rep abroad. During this time I worked with children aged from 3 months to 17 years. I have a great deal of confidence and knowledge working with children of all ages. I am able to adapt activities to suit each child's personal requirements. During my summer seasons I taught sailing, kayaking, and swimming. During my winter seasons I taught igloo/snowman building and sledging ;) I also spent 3 months in Africa working with children with HIV and AIDS. What an incredible experience that was! I taught the children about HIV, how to keep themselves fit and healthy and above all empowerment! I carried out kickboxing sessions with them to increase there fitness and self belief! I have most recently just moved back home from working as a live in nanny in America for a year. I watched a beautiful 3 month old baby grow and develop into a wonderful little girl. It was a great experience and loved being apart of the family :)
