Karen looked after my 3 children for a 2 month period on a part time basis.
She did a competent job but I did not need her anymore due to personal reasons & I told her as soon as I knew but upon returning my pushchair and key - she proceeded to shout at me in front of my kids that she was unhappy that I don’t need her anymore and I arranged alternative childcare behind her back and lied to her.

In response to this low scoring review, I shall put forward my view of the situation.
This parent had recently employed my services for a permanent role to commence in September, contract given to me but not yet signed. As the offer of employment came in May we had a verbal agreement for me to work part time hours throughout June, July and August. Nine weeks in, the day before I was due to be at work, I received a WhatsApp message informing me I was no longer needed with immediate effect. The message explained there was no fault on my part, she thanked me for everything I had done and also stated she was more than happy to give a reference.
Her circumstances had already changed numerous times over this period regarding the permanent role which were all discussed and the changes were accommodated. So I was surprised no approach was made for this last change.
Upon returning her property I did not shout at her in front of her children, I did tell her I was upset and disappointed with the way she had treated me and that I didn’t believe the reason she had given me as well as the timings of some of her actions.
I appreciate circumstances do change but the way in which she has dealt with me and my dismissal, I feel was underhand.
