My current role as a Head of Mathematics in a private primary school in Surrey includes the responsibilities of delivering high standards of Mathematics lessons to small class sizes at KS2 and KS3 and supporting the Maths teachers within my department to achieve excellent results.
I am dedicated to my profession and I set high standards for myself and my students. I am hard working and easy going. In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities and my hobbies are playing the piano and running.
My current role as a Head of Mathematics in a private primary school in Surrey includes the responsibilities of delivering high standards of Mathematics lessons to small class sizes at KS2 and KS3 and supporting the Maths teachers within my department to achieve excellent results. I am also responsible for devising and implementing effective schemes of work that implement differentiation within the classroom, in order to maximise each student’s potential.
The diverse abilities of students in my teaching groups would impact positively on my planning. To engage my students effectively in the learning process, I would reach out to them in ways that are supportive to their needs and mathematically responsive and appropriately challenging. I know my students and their academic abilities individually and know their expectations and I would spend time planning Maths activities to provide equal learning opportunities for all students to work together and promote mathematics for all.
I have considerable teaching experience and my current role allows me to engage my students in extra curricular activities, both inside and outside of school. My students have been very successful in the Primary Mathematics Challenge, both in the first round and the bonus round of this challenge and in Maths competitions within the local schools of Surrey.
I currently fill a form tutor role supporting Head of House and Head of Year in the everyday responsibilities of running the house smoothly and providing pastoral care for each of the students allocated to the house. Some of my duties include preparing a form assembly and providing pastoral support for the students within my form.
