About Me
Hello my name is Shauna Kelly and I am an Ofsted registered Childminder since 2010. I am also a qualified Nursery Nurse and I have recently been graded a good by Ofsted at my last inspection which was in August 2023. I am married and have three children, One studying teaching at University, One in Sixth form College and One in primary school. I decided to become a child-minder so that I can combine my love for working with children with being a full time mum.
My aim is to provide a safe homely environment for the children in my care and introduce them to the fun and educational atmosphere which I share with my family on a daily basis.
Your child will receive daily slips that I record all activities, meals and information about their day for you to take home.
Your pre-school child will have a learning journey made to record and celebrate their achievements and keep track of their development. This also helps me plan activities to include their next steps in development, parents/carers are welcome to contribute with pictures from home. This is a great keepsake and something look back on with your child.
My Experience
I am a qualified nursery nurse and have over 25 years experience in day care. Both myself and my husband have been CRB checked. I am a mum to three young girls and I believe it's the best job in the world! I have public liability insurance. I go on courses whenever I can to keep my knowledge up to date. I am also Trained in paediatric FIRST AID.

My Availability
Places available at the moment Tuesday-Wednesday and Thursday.
I work Tuesday to Thursday 7:30am - 6pm and Friday 7:30-4 all year round.
I don’t work Mondays.
I pick up and drop off at Swarcliffe Primary School and Nursery.
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
£6 per hour, this includes meals,snacks and trips. Weaning is also included.
If I am sick or my children are sick I will not charge you.
If your child is sick or having a day at home I will need to charge full fee's as this is something I cannot predict.
If I am on holiday I will not charge and will give plenty of notice so that you can arrange alternative childcare.
If you are on holiday I will need to charge full fee's as I need to keep your child's place in my setting.

There just aren’t enough words to explain what an amazing childminder Shauna is. We had the privilege of her looking after our little girl from 9 months old to just over 2 years old, and we were genuinely devastated to leave when we moved away.
Shauna creates a true home-from-home environment — warm, calm and full of fun. Our daughter absolutely thrived in her care. She was always happy to go in the mornings, came home full of stories about her day, and formed such a lovely bond with Shauna, Lydia, Quinn and the whole gang...especially Bobbi!
The activities are thoughtful and varied, from crafts to imaginative play and learning through everyday moments. But what really sets Shauna apart is the love and care she gives the children. She treats them as if they were her own. Shauna is also really good at communicating with parents and regularly sends pictures and updates, and you always get a little note at the end of the day to provide you an overview of their day.
Leaving her was one of, if not the hardest part of our move, which probably says everything. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have Shauna care for their child.

Shauna has been childminding my daughter for 3 years now and I must say she’s simply amazing, so professional and I couldn’t have wished for a better environment for my daughter to be in. In 3 years I’ve not had one problem Shauna is more than reliable, trustworthy and welcomes each child with open arms. Shauna runs a lovely family home along side her family who are such positive role models, kind, polite and caring!
Everything is by the book, and she meets every need wether it’s dietary, emotional or educational.
I honestly couldn’t fault Shauna in anyway she goes above and beyond for all the children and is great support for not only the children but parents too! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND COULDN’T BE MORE THANKFUL TO HAVE SHAUNA AND FAMILY AS A PART OF MY CHILDS LIFE!

Shauna looked after my daughter back in 2016 and I knew when the time came for me to have another baby I wouldn't have asked anyone else but shauna to look after my baby. My son is 2 1/2 now and has been with shauna since before he turned 1. He was not the easiest of baby's and had his own little quirks but shauna helped me get through this phase and really persevered and was patient with him. He loves it there and is happy to go each day and wave me off. He leaves for nursery school in November and I'm sad it's an end of an era but excited for him at the same time. I would totally recommend shauna to look after your child she has a beautiful family and home and you are always at ease leaving your child to go and work. Jaydan will miss being at 'naunas' house but we will definitely be staying in touch xx

Shauna has been a childminder for my son for the past 3 years, he was only a year old when he started and will soon be going on to pre school.
I would highly recommend Shauna to anyone looking for home from home childcare, the children always have plenty to do, learn lots of new things & most importantly are treated like one of the family.
My son is so happy to be with Shauna & I can drop him off feeling so confident that he is cared for in every way.
Although my son will leave Shauna in September, we have made a friend for life & plan to stay in touch 🙃

I highly recommend Shauna as an exceptional childminder. Shauna has been caring for my 2 sons for the past 6 years and the experience has been overwhelmingly positive.
From the very beginning, Shauna has demonstrated remarkable reliability and flexibility, always accommodating our sometimes unpredictable schedule with grace and understanding. Shauna consistently creates a nurturing and stimulating environment that my child eagerly looks forward to each day.
One of the most impressive aspects of Shauna’s care is the personalised attention given to each child. For instance, my sons both showed significant improvement in language skills, writing and social skills thanks to the targeted activities and encouragement provided by Shuana. The variety of educational and fun activities, ranging from creative arts and crafts to engaging outdoor play, has contributed greatly to my child's overall development.
The home-like setting that Shauna offers is both safe and welcoming, which has helped my child feel comfortable and secure. This consistency in care has fostered a strong bond between Shauna and my children, which is evident in the enthusiastic hugs and smiles exchanged each day.

Thank you so much for choosing me. I have thoroughly enjoyed caring for your two boys and watching them grow and develop into such fun, clever and wonderful little people. 6 years has gone by so quickly.
My son has been looked after by Shauna for nearly two years now, and I cannot recommend her highly enough, he is really flourishing in her care. I was looking for a childminder who would make him a part of the family and give him the care and attention he would get at home, and I have found that. I don’t worry about him when I am working as I know he is happy and well looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending Shauna to anyone.

My son started at Shauna's when he was one. He has been there for a year and half now and loving every minute. It makes me feel good knowing my son is in safe hands when I'm at work. My son has learnt so much being with Shauna and his speech has improved aswell. My son loves her children and they make him feel like part of their family. I am really glad I found Shauna and would recommend her to anyone who asks.

I have known Shauna for many years as a close friend and also a work colleague. My child absolutely loves spending time around Shauna and her family, and has always been made to feel safe and loved whilst in Shauna's home. Having worked along side Shauna in a childcare setting, I can say that she is a loving, caring, and nurturing individual who always has the child's best interest at heart. She is an excellent mother to her two children and this reflects in their loving nature towards the children in her care. There isn't many people I would trust leaving my child with due to being a typical over protective mother, however, I feel completely at ease when my child is in Shauna's or her husbands care. I know she is in excellent hands.
