About Me
Hi! We're a warm, busy family of four (soon to be five!) based in Ashford, Kent. We have two wonderful children: Maya, 11, and Axel, 7, both of whom attend Junior Kings School in Canterbury. We are also expecting our third child in August, which is bringing lots of excitement to our household!
Maya is a keen swimmer, and Axel loves football and tennis. They are bright, energetic and great fun, and they thrive with a good balance of structure and warmth. We're a close-knit family, and we're looking for someone who will genuinely feel part of that. Someone patient, proactive, and caring who loves spending time with children.
My Requirements
We are looking for a kind, reliable and experienced childcarer to support us across two phases:
**August: General Childcare**
In August, we need help with general childcare for Maya and Axel while we prepare for and settle into life with a newborn. This would involve keeping the children engaged, active and happy with outings, activities, and day-to-day supervision.
**From September: Daily School Run and After-School Support**
From the start of the autumn term, the core of the role will be the daily school run between our home in Ashford and Junior Kings School in Canterbury. The routine varies slightly by day but broadly involves:
- Travelling with the children from Wye Station to Sturry in the mornings (drop-off times vary between 7:00 and 7:45 am depending on the day)
- Picking the children up from school in the afternoon (typically around 5:15 pm) and accompanying them home
- On Wednesdays, taking the children to swimming at Kings Sports Centre (4 to 5 pm) before returning home around 6 pm
We would also love around an hour of after-school support to help with the baby, so that my wife can have some dedicated, quality time with Maya and Axel during this important transition.
The ideal person will be comfortable travelling independently on public transport with children, organised, and able to adapt to a schedule that varies slightly throughout the week. Most importantly, they will bring genuine warmth, reliability and a love of working with families.
