About Me

Hi, I’m Kelly and I run Making Memories Childminding. I’m an Ofsted registered childminder and have many years of experience caring for children.

I work alongside my lovely assistant, which means we are able to offer children plenty of individual attention while still giving them the opportunity to make friends, socialise and enjoy being part of a small, homely childcare setting.

I am term-time only and currently offer funded childcare places for eligible children, including:

• 9-month-old funded places
• 2-year-old funded places
• 3 and 4-year-old funded places

My aim is to provide a happy, relaxed and caring environment where children feel safe, settled and confident enough to explore, learn and be themselves.

I strongly believe that young children learn best through play. Our days are filled with a mixture of child-led and planned activities based around the children’s ages, interests and stages of development.

Activities can include messy play, play-dough, painting and crafts, water and sand play, building and construction, small-world play, imaginative play, sensory activities, stories, singing, dancing and lots of outdoor play.

We are lucky to have a dedicated playroom as well as access to the garden, allowing the children plenty of opportunities for free-flow indoor and outdoor play. We also enjoy activities such as the mud kitchen, outdoor exploration and seasonal activities throughout the year.

I follow the EYFS and support each child’s individual development while keeping things fun and pressure-free. I get to know every child properly and plan activities and next steps around what they enjoy and what will help them develop.

As a mum myself, I understand how important it is to find childcare where you genuinely feel comfortable leaving your child. I want parents to feel that their child is coming somewhere they are loved, cared for and treated as an individual rather than just being another number.

Communication with parents is really important to me. I like families to know what their child has been doing, how they have eaten, slept and enjoyed their day, and I am always happy to chat about their development or anything parents may be concerned about.

We encourage independence, confidence, kindness and good friendships while keeping our days fun, busy and full of opportunities to make memories.
