Nanny in Amersham (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hi there! My name is Abby, and I’m a caring, hardworking, reliable and flexible childcare professional with over 10 years of experience working with children.
Outside of childcare, I enjoy travelling, photography, wildlife and spending time in nature. I’m a huge animal lover and love discovering new places and experiences.
My Experience
I first started my childcare career in a nursery, where I completed my Level 3 qualification in Childcare. During this time, I cared for children aged 4 months to 9 years old. My role included meal preparation, nappy changing, toilet training, planning activities, trips to the park and outings to places such as museums, bowling and wildlife parks. I also completed various paperwork, including following the EYFS framework and observing and monitoring children’s development.
I then worked as a nanny for two children aged 6 and 8 in a before and after-school role. My responsibilities included preparing breakfast, getting the children ready and walking them to school, as well as taking them to their various after-school activities by car or on foot. I prepared and cooked their evening meals and also helped with household tasks and batch cooking during the day. During the school holidays, I cared for them from 8am–6pm, spending lots of quality time together on outings tocinema, bowling and trampoline parks.
I also had the amazing opportunity to work as an au pair in Australia for a family with two children aged 6 months and 3 years. I supported the mum while the dad was away for several weeks at a time. My role included helping with meals, taking the children and their dog to the park, nappy changes, supporting the baby as they learned to walk, and doing arts and crafts where the children could use their imagination and create whatever they wanted.
For the past seven years, I have worked in a nursery baby room, caring for children aged 4 months to 2 years old. I particularly love this age group and the strong relationships you build with both the children and their families. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child achieve a new milestone and being there to encourage, support and celebrate them along the way.
I’m passionate about creating a safe, nurturing and fun environment where children can feel confident to explore, learn and be themselves. I’m also an active person and enjoy getting outdoors, exploring nature and finding new activities and adventures to enjoy with children.
I’m vegan for the animals and would love to prepare healthy, nutritious plant-based meals for your children. I enjoy cooking and would be happy to involve children in age-appropriate cooking and food preparation too.
I’d love the opportunity to become a trusted and valued part of your family and provide your children with the care, attention and encouragement they need to thrive.
