About Me

Hello, my name is Amber. I am primary qualified teacher and have taught in an SEMH secondary school.
I am now offering tutoring, babysitting (including overnight) and nannying. I am available for adhoc work if you just want someone to call on here and there to give yourself a break, or to suit your own adhoc hours.
I have extensive experience working with children with additional needs, including, autism, ADHD, ODD, mental health difficulties and can also attend to additional physical needs (I.e, I am confident with Mickey buttons).

My most recent position was teaching in a specialist secondary school for pupils with SEMH and behavioural difficulties. Here, I run the nurture provision for year 7 and 8 pupils, having developed a tailored curriculum to meet their intellectual, social and emotional needs. Before this, I was a support worker and tutor and did adhoc work around that. Previously, I was a Year 4 teacher, having completed a three year degree in Primary Education. During my time at university, I gained experience across the primary years, in a range of schools. I have therefore had 3 years of in depth training on the 2014 National Curriculum, learning to implement mathematics mastery and creative strategies to raise attainment in writing.

Previously, I have worked in a summer camp for children 4-16years. I was also a nanny for two years for three different families with children from 5 months to 9 years.

Prior to that, I worked in a nursery with 3months-5year old and had experience as a teaching assistant at a school working with 3-7 year old students (as part of my college course).

I have been babysitting for 14 years, for children from 3 months old.

I am a qualified teacher with 2:1 in Primary Education and also have a distinction in Msc Psychology.
I have three distinctions in a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Childcare, Learning and Development, paediatric first aid training, clean DBS, clean drivers liscence and own vehicle.

I absolutely love working with children and am always creating fun, stimulating activities to suit the needs of each individual child. I am aware of how to meet children's needs in all areas and enjoy activities that bring out the creative side in children, being outdoors and learning about the world around them.
