Tanya
Childminder in London: Barnet
My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Tanya, and I have been an Ofsted-registered childminder since 2006, providing a safe, caring and nurturing home-from-home environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.
I am a warm, caring, reliable and approachable person who genuinely enjoys working with children. I believe every child is unique and deserves to feel safe, valued, listened to and understood. I take the time to get to know each child’s personality, interests and individual needs, helping them to build confidence, independence and positive relationships.
As a parent myself, I understand how important it is to find childcare that feels safe, reliable and genuinely caring. I understand the trust parents place in those caring for their children and strive to provide a happy, secure and supportive environment where every child can flourish.
I communicate with children at their own level and believe that listening to children is just as important as caring for them. I work closely with parents to ensure children receive consistent support both at home and in my setting.
My home is located in a quiet residential area close to Arnos Grove Underground Station, New Southgate Station and local bus routes. I have a fully enclosed garden with a beautiful wooden playhouse, sandpit, water play activities and a variety of outdoor toys and learning opportunities. I also regularly take children to local parks, libraries, playgroups and community activities, helping them to develop confidence and social skills while having fun.
I provide healthy, nutritious home-cooked meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day. I understand the importance of good nutrition and aim to offer balanced meals that children enjoy. I am allergy-aware and happy to discuss individual dietary requirements with parents. Where possible, I can adapt meals for vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and other dietary needs that can be safely managed within my setting.
I understand that modern family life can be busy and unpredictable, so I aim to be as flexible and accommodating as possible. I offer dependable childcare that parents can rely on and work closely with families to meet their individual childcare requirements.
I am proud to be part of our local community and enjoy helping children learn about the world around them. I promote kindness, respect, inclusion and understanding, encouraging children to appreciate the diverse community we live in and to treat everyone with respect and compassion.
My goal is simple: to provide every child with a happy, secure and stimulating environment where they feel loved, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.
My Experience
I have almost 20 years of childcare experience and have been an Ofsted-registered childminder since 2006. During this time, I have cared for children from newborn babies through to teenagers and have built strong, long-lasting relationships with many families.
Many of the children I have cared for have remained with me for years as they have grown and developed. I am proud that parents continue to place their trust in me and often recommend my childcare services to others.
I have extensive experience supporting children with autism and additional needs and understand the importance of patience, routine, consistency and clear communication. One child with autism who I cared for from babyhood is now 13 years old, and I still continue to care for him during school holidays. This long-standing relationship has given me valuable experience in providing continuity of care and adapting support as children grow and their needs change over time.
I understand that every child develops differently and benefits from an individual approach. My aim is always to create a calm, supportive environment where children feel comfortable, secure and confident to be themselves.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Educational Psychology from Latvia, which has given me a strong understanding of child development, learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing. I use this knowledge every day to support children’s development through play, exploration and positive encouragement.
