I am 45 years old, with a wonderful family including... my husband, who works as an IT consultant and 2 gorgeous boys (aged 13 and 12). We live in Warley, within a 5 minute walk of Brentwood Station
Having been a teacher for 16 years, I became a childminder in 2015 and have never looked back!
In my first Ofsted inspection (2017) I gained an ‘Outstanding’ grade.
I enjoy being outside and all aspects of nature and outdoor learning so, although I offer a home from home environment, I also take the children on daily outings to local parks, nature trails and local woodlands.
My Experience
I have been childminding since giving up teaching in 2015. Many of the children I have looked after have been with me since a very young age and stayed with me right up until they have started school & I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing them flourish, grow & develop.
In my last Ofsted inspection (Oct 17) I and was rated ‘Outstanding’.
Having, previously, been a teacher for 16 years, I spent the last 4 years of my teaching career as a Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), Designated Teacher (supporting those children who are in care) and Child Protection Co-ordinator & have found that this experience has allowed me to nurture young children whilst developing their education in a fun and play based environment.
We love being outside & we learn, play & explore outside on a daily basis, using nature & the environment as much as we can to develop a love of learning and curiosity about the world around us. We love nothing more than jumping in a muddy puddle or counting out conkers and reciting our numbers.
My Qualifications
‘Home-based Childcare Award’, ‘BTEC in Nursery Nursing’, ‘Bachelor of Education Degree’ 2:1, ‘Qualified Teacher Status’, ‘Advanced Skill Teacher’ Award, paediatric First aid and Level 2 Safeguarding.
My Availability
‘Kids with Kellie’ will be open from 8:00 – 5:00pm Monday to Friday both term time and throughout school holidays. I will be closed all public and bank holidays but you are charged for these.

Kellie has been looking after my precious angel for the last 6 months and I honestly could not fault her skills one bit. She keeps me regularly updated with my sons progress and sends his learning journey home to look at. She takes the time to show what my 20 month old should be doing for his age and helps him reach his milestones effectively. My son was born premature so leaving my precious angel with someone was hard and after pulling him out of a local nursery that I was not happy with, I really cannot praise Kellie enough. My son refuses to come home as he enjoys the company of Kellie and her beautiful family and he loves them to bits. Any needs I have she caters to as much as she can. Her experience with kids shows when you see how she bonds with the kids in her care and my son smiling and cuddling her means she is defiantly doing it right. My son being a fussy eater that he eat keeps her on her toes but she always make sure she finds something he will enjoy. I would highly recommend Kellie and so does my little boy!
