About Me

Hi. I have worked with children for many years and bring a calm, patient and caring approach to every day. I am fully Ofsted registered and maintain up to date training in:
• Paediatric First Aid
• Safeguarding & Child Protection
• Food Hygiene
• EYFS learning and development
I am committed to ongoing professional development so I can offer the highest standard of care.
I am supported in my setting by my husband, Tim, who works alongside me as my registered childminding assistant. He shares the same caring, child centred approach and is fully trained in safeguarding, paediatric first aid, and the daily routines of the setting. As part of his role, he helps with activities, supervision, and outings, always ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing remain the top priority. Parents can feel confident that he is a trusted, consistent adult who contributes to the calm, nurturing environment we provide.
My home is a warm, caring environment where children are supported to learn, play and grow at their own pace. I believe that children thrive when they feel safe, valued and truly at home, and I work hard to create a cosy, nurturing atmosphere from the moment they arrive. I aim to create an environment that feels like an extension of your own home — familiar, friendly and full of opportunities to learn through play.
As a childminder, my role is to provide high quality care that meets each child’s individual needs. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and use a gentle, play based approach to help children develop confidence, independence and curiosity. Every child is unique, and I take time to understand their routines, interests, comforters and personalities so I can support them in the way that suits them best.
I am committed to ongoing professional development so I can offer the highest standard of care.
Communication is very important to me. I want you to feel fully involved in your child’s day, their learning and their wellbeing. I will share updates, photos and observations with you regularly, and I’m always available to talk through any questions or concerns. Working in partnership with parents helps children feel secure, and together we can make sure your child has the best possible experience.
Behind my home is a wide green space where children can explore and play, and we also make use of a large, accessible park just a short walk away.
As part of my service, I carry out both morning drop offs and afternoon pick ups from Purbrook Infant School and Purbrook Junior School.

My Experience

With over 20 years of childminding experience, I am proud to still be in touch with many of the children I have cared for and their parents. My experience includes supporting children with special needs, caring for newborn babies, and working alongside teenage parents. I strive to give every family the individual support they need so they can go to work knowing their child is safe, settled and having a lovely time. I offer flexible hours and recognise that each family has its own routines, needs and expectations.
If you require any additional information, please get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.

Auntie Sue is the best

5 stars

Auntie Sue has been my children's childminder for 18 years. I have 3 children and all of them were looked after by Sue.

Sue is flexible, dependent, fully reliable and by far the best childminder I have ever met. She helped my son through learning difficulties, my eldest daughter through adolescence and is now my middle daughter's godmother.

She is supportive of the parents and absolutely superb with the children. I would not place them with anyone else.

I could not recommend her more, if I could give her stars there would be 5+++++
