About Me

My name is Sarah, I am an OFSTED registered Childminder, based in the centre of Northwich and I provide excellent childcare in a loving, home environment.

I started working in childcare in 1997 working in primary education. I have also spent a number of years in-between working in a large private company as an operations manager. I returned to childcare following the birth of my daughter in 2009. I love being surrounded by children of all ages and feel it's a privilege to be able to make an impact on their early years.

Having founded and run a local playgroup, I like to think I take a very organised approach to the structure of each day. I follow the "Early Years Foundation" which is the same standard used in all early years settings, including schools and nurseries.

Each day at Play Dates Childminding, we offer a varied programme of planned activities designed to support your child’s learning, development and individual interests.
Activities include crafts, baking, messy play, music, reading and early writing skills.
Alongside our planned activities, we always make sure there is plenty of time for child-led free play. This gives children the opportunity to use their imaginations, develop their creativity, build friendships and strengthen their social skills, while learning through play at their own pace.

Our monthly enrichment programme offers children even more opportunities to explore new experiences and develop new skills.
We provide a wide range of sessions including music, ballet, yoga, football and circus-themed activities. These sessions are delivered by local external professionals to just our setting, giving the children the opportunity to meet new people, experience different teaching styles and try activities they may not otherwise have access to.

We believe that providing a balance of planned learning, child-led play and exciting enrichment experiences helps every child to learn, grow in confidence and discover the things they love

Some of these activities will be carried out in the home or at different setting including playgroups.

We also do day trips, for example, the Zoo,
the beach, Safari park, local parks and farms, the library and soft play to name a few.

We have access to a private Forest school and we have our own allotment as part of the setting.
