Zdenka Nigosova worked for us as a part-time nanny to our two daughters for 3 months between April and July 2020. The circumstances were difficult. Our girls were 28 months and 8 months old when she started, the youngest had spent very little time away from me and we were in the midst of lockdown, my husband and I both working from home. Zdenka was a consummate professional, getting to grips with a difficult role with confidence and enthusiasm.

Zdenka built relationships with both girls such that they were happy to spend the day with her, despite knowing that mum and dad were just upstairs. She developed a routine for both girls that involved pre-planned activities, often focused around a book, which she brought with her every day as well as trips out to a different local park each day for games and exercise. She cooked healthy meals, helped wean the baby and encouraged the toddler to try a wider variety of foods. She trained both girls to have more regularly timed naps than they had been having and the baby to self-soothe herself to sleep. She also helped the baby crawl and take her first steps and the toddler potty train.

Throughout the time that she worked with us, Zdenka was punctual, well-prepared, imaginative yet structured, loving yet disciplined and very much a self-starter, able to work well with limited direction. We could not have asked for a better nanny to help us through this difficult period.

Zdenka has been taking care of our first child when he was only 5 months old and I had to return to work full time. I immediately trusted Zdenka as she gave us detailed feedback of our son routine and activities. She took on some extensive research to find appropriate classes for our baby in our area and gradually took him to one class or playgroup a day.
We moved house when our baby was only one year, Zdenka supported our son and adapted a special routine to get him excited in his new bedroom. When he was going through schema plays, she was quick at detecting them, explaining them to us and finally helping him (giving him time, talking to him and making him have fun).
She fully organized our baby weaning and introduced step by step new ingredients. Our toddler is now eating all sorts of vegetables, grains, proteins and fruits thanks to her perseverance and innovative ways to cook. I was actually very impressed with Zdenka knowledge in nutrition from the use of superfood to the magic alchemy of nutrients to ensure their digestion, absorption and help in mood and sleep regulations.
Zdenka has got a holistic way of educating children which makes her really stand out from the other nannies. She nurtured a positive parenting approach for us which we now follow almost effortlessly. She recommended us some educational readings which have helped us in many ways understand our child and coach him how to be independent and thrive in his activities.
Zdenka is so trustworthy she came with us on a family holiday to Zanzibar where she arranged some special activities for our 16 month toddler (coconut painting, collecting shells on the beach and painting them, swimming, sand play).
When our second child was born, Zdenka helped me in correcting my breastfeeding position but also supported me in staying active and getting some rest. She was preparing all meals for me which helped me feel good and the baby to have the best possible fuel for his development.
She patiently taught my newborn how to take from the bottle and even fed her with a spoon when she was refusing to take from the bottle. Last but not least, I was away for 2 weeks and Zdenka stayed as a maternity nurse when I was away, working 24 hours a day to take care of my 4 month old baby. She used her knowledge and practice to sleep train my 2 children and I am blessed to have them sleeping peacefully thanks to her.
I would recommend Zdenka to anyone and I have no issue in being reached should someone need more reference on her. She will be dearly missed and I wish her well in her future educational projects.

Zdenka has been looking after our child for 11 months and she is doing a great job on a daily basis.
She is very reliable, always on time, and source of initiatives; submitting and coking new dishes every week or exploring all the activities that could help our son development. She is very active and can take initiative to better answer to our sons needs : once while we were changing house, she took our son to Kew garden to help him relaxing as he went under a lot of stress with the change of environment. She has also been travelling with us for a week and help us relaxing while taking care of our son.
Zdenka is highly skilled, had a very good approach with babies and toddler so I would recommend her to anyone.
This has been almost a year since Zdenka entered into our family and we hope to keep her as long as Alex would need her.

Zdenka has been a full time nanny for our little boy for almost two years. She has cared for him for 50 hours per week since he was 9 months old. We are now in a position where we are moving home (otherwise I am sure that she would still be working for us).

Zdenka has provided wonderful care for our son throughout that time and he will miss her enormously. I work long and odd hours and she has been incredibly flexible and thoroughly dependable. Zdenka truly adores working with children and builds a rapport with them very early. She comes up with endless ideas to keep them entertained and to encourage their development. From the perspective of parents, on a practical level she cooks nutritious and fresh food daily and keeps the kitchen spotless after using it. She gets out and about to play groups, parks, play centres and play dates every day; she is excellent at giving our son opportunities to socialise with other children and learn from them.

Whichever family Zdenka goes to next, they will have a wonderful nanny and i'm sure their children will adore her as much as our son does. I have provided a full reference to Zdenka if anyone should wish to see it.

We had engaged with this nanny six months before start date, she accepted four months before start date and then dropped out a month beforehand. She left us in a very difficult situation in which, due to holiday commitments, we had to find a new nanny within one week! The experience was extremely stressful for us. While she was initially very apologetic, when asked if she would consider paying us the money back for the settling in day (some nannies don't even charge for this) her responses turned somewhat unprofessional and disrespectful, saying her day would have been better spent studying and that the "advice" she gave us was worth more than the money we paid her - a strange response given that she was interviewing for a job and not employed as a consultant. She also argued she wasn't looking for a job when we approached her and that she believes she made the right decision by dropping us. Any professional person would have responded in a more respectful manner, given the desperate situation she had left us in. We were thoroughly disappointed with her and believe we had a lucky escape in the end...
