About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Doris, and I provide a warm, safe, and caring home-from-home environment where children can learn, play, and grow.

I live in a mid-terrace house with a dedicated playroom offering a wide range of toys, activities, and learning opportunities. I regularly take the children to local playgroups, parks, soft play centres, and play areas to encourage socialising and active play. During school holidays, we also enjoy trips further afield to farms, lavender fields, pumpkin patches, and other seasonal attractions.

My home is conveniently located 5–8 minutes from transport links to Croydon and London, with easy access to trams, buses, and trains.

I am originally from Ghana and have been described as happy, caring, and reliable. I live with my two adult children, two cats, and a goldfish.

I accept funded childcare, childcare vouchers, and tax-free childcare/tax credits.

My Experience

I have since been childminder for 14 years, and was previously a foster carer for seven years. In my 2026 Ofsted inspection I achieved 'Good'.

I attend a range of courses throughout the year such as Safeguarding level 2, Food safety-hygiene, Senco Speech Language and Communication for Childminders.

Loved by many kids

Doris has looked after my boy since he was 11 months and has always been flexible around my work schedule.
Looking after him during the Covid years and having to keep to the restrictions, she still managed to keep him entertained ( not an easy task) once restrictions were lifted she took him to toddler groups and other outings to parks, farm etc.

She even adapted her meals to my sons food requirements while still encouraging him to try different options.
Doris was recommended to me by my friend after she looked after my godson.

I’ve been very happy with her service and I know my boy loves her, I get the feeling that she see’s him as part of her family.

I’m sad we will be leaving in September as he is starting big school.
Although we will still visit regularly.
