Hi my name is Katie and I live with my husband and my 2 sons.. We also have cats who love to keep us company.
I enjoy baking, cooking and dabble in most things crafty.
I also love to provide opportunities outdoors, playing, exploring, walking and going places.
I have worked in childcare for the last 22 years. I have been child minding for 9 years prior to that I spent six and a half years in children's centres providing a variety of play activities and sessions for parents and their children and working one to one supporting families.
I really enjoy working with children and their families. I hope to provide a home from home with a variety of activities for your children to learn and have fun in a safe and friendly environment.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for 22 years in a variety of settings with children from 0-18 years and their parents/ carers. I have been childminding for 3 years now. For 6 and a 1/2 years prior I worked in children's centres running and delivering groups and sessions for parents and their children from baby massage, parenting courses, cooking with your children, peep (parents as early educators) and forest school activities. I have also provided one to one support for families.
Prior to working in children's centres I have nannied, provided temporary crèches, support in nurseries and worked for a holiday company where I manaaged crèches and kids clubs. I have experience completing paperwork and learning journals to track and share your child's learning with you and have worked with children with additional needs. I have 2 children of my own which has brought new experiences and learning.
My Qualifications
I have a diploma in childcare and education (CACHE diploma), childminder training, safeguarding, basic food hygiene certificate, paediatric first aid , level 3 forest school leader and I am qualified to deliver a variety of courses for example baby massage, incredible years and PEEP. Throughout my time in children's centres I have had the opportunity to do a wide range of training which has included working with ADHD, speech, language and communication and the early years foundation (eyfs- updates, observations and recording.)

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
I provide all day care from 8am to 5.30pm Monday through to Friday

Katie is fantastic with our little girl and they get up to all sorts! She is always coming home with paintings and crafty things and they get outside all the time on walks and collecting leaves and whatever is seasonal.
Katie cooks home cooked food for them and they always eat and drink well.
Katie also writes us a book every day which maps her learning journey and also tells us what she's been up to in detail each day which we love.
We wouldn't want to leave her with anyone else ?

My (just) 3 year old daughter has been going to Katie's for a few monhs now and she absolutely loves it.
Katie is a calm and measured person who clearly has lots of experience working with children in other settings. She provides plenty of activities and things to do that my little one thoroughly enjoys including giving them lots of opportunities to just run around and play in the fresh air.
Katie will record as much or as little as you like in terms of what the children have done/eaten in the day and she takes stacks of photos for us to enjoy at home.
My daughter can't wait to get back to play with Katie after the sumer holidays......!

At short notice Katie, was able to accommodate my two and half year old son. My little boy can be very shy around unfamiliar adults. However, with Katie, my son warmed up to her within 5 mins and was having Cherios for breakfast and chatting to her.
During the time my son was with Katie, they did various activities which included trips to the local parks, library and a full day at the zoo. My son also brought home paintings and drawings which he had made.
Katie also provided a trampoline, paddling pool, climbing frame and a slide in her beautiful garden which my son enjoyed tremendously.
I would 100% recommend Katie to any parent thinking of a safe home environment and a loving childminder/mum for they child.

Katie is a great childminder and we are extremely happy with the care that she provides for our daughter for three days a week. Our daughter settled quickly as Katie provided as many 'settling in' sessions as she needed. Her development has accelerated at a rapid pace due to the experiences that Katie provides. More importantly, she loves the days when she goes to Katie's and as a parent, leaving your child smiling and content is a reassuring feeling. Katie also provides our daughter with delicious and nutritious meals and snacks and is very accommodating when it comes to specific requirements. We would highly recommend Katie as a professional childminder and as a friend.
