About Me
Hello, I am a 29 year old mum of a gorgeous 1 year old girl and 3 lovely dogs.
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher but for the past few years have been running my own dog walking, training & food business.
Within my teaching role, I have had mixed ability classes, working with special needs children including autism and supporting them all to achieve their full potential. I believe learning through play is the best approach and try to make my lessons as hands on and exciting a story possible! I love singing and drama as ways to learn facts such as times tables and sequencing stories.
I have a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Sociology and a PGCE - Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
I undertook my teacher training within a Reception class and have experience with a range of primary school ages. I have a strong understanding of the Early Years Curriculum and the prime and specific areas that are at the core of it. I have a range of teaching strategies for phonics and pride myself in my ability to teach early maths is an engaging and dynamic way.
I have previous experience working within a nursery and have no issues with feeding, bathing and changing children
I am fun, enthusiastic and always up for an adventure. I love music and am grade 4 on the flute. One of my main interests is with animals, I love to watch programmes on them as well as going to the zoo and other nature reserves - I have a membership with the national trust!

My Experience
My experience is both personal and professional. I have a younger brother who is aged 10 now but I was very hands on with his upbringing, therefore, have knowledge of changing nappies, bathing and general activities.
Most recently, I had my lovely little girl. I have taken a year out to be with her. We attend numerous groups and enjoying meeting other parents and children.
I follow child-led learning & activities and love to get outside as much as possible too.
My previous experience is professionally as a teacher working with primary school aged children.
I regularly babysat for three families (ages 1 - 8) in the evenings, holidays and weekend.
I previously was employed with Oaks Nursery which is based on the Kent University Canterbury Campus. I work with ages from 6 weeks to 4 years and have experience of playing, feeding and looking after all ages.

- Fully qualified primary school teacher (I have been out of teaching due to raising my little girl but am up to date with all the learning).
My Availability
I am available during the week for short periods but will have my daughter with me.
For evenings & weekends I can be flexible and available at any time.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)
I charge £12 an hour for babysitting.
During these times, I am more than happy to work on homework or any other tasks your child is doing.

Lucy baby sat our 5 month old daughter while we attended our wedding reception. She was on time, very easy going & friendly. She was brilliant with our daughter and put our mind at rest so we could enjoy the rest of our day knowing our daughter was safe. I would recommend Lucy 100% to babysit and to look after our daughter again! :-)
