About Me
My name is Jan and I offer a quality home from home childminding service that is flexible and child centred. I am married and a mum to three adult daughters. My oldest daughter works with me and is also an ofsted registered childminder. I live backing onto the Sussex Downs in Findon Valley, Worthing and we spend a lot of time out and about enjoying the beautiful walks and beach. Our ethos is to follow open ended activities that use the natural environment to inspire curiosity and learning through play. We explore the outdoors and use real world experiences from a home from home setting. Our home has two small friendly cockerpoo dogs. In the garden we have a purpose built Guinea pigs house where our Guinea pigs live. All my animals are vet checked, immunised and wormed and never left unsupervised with the children. I work primarily from a beautiful garden room with a totally separate, secure garden that the dogs do not enter.
My Experience
Throughout the last 30 years I have worked extensively in childcare including childminding, fostering for West sussex (under eights), running toddler groups, working in playgroups and running tumble tots sessions. I am also a qualified holistic therapist and run groups teaching parents reflexology for children and story massage. My daughter is a qualified primary school teacher and has also worked in many different types of early years settings including forest schools and outdoor nurseries. She has also been the manager of a day nursery. We work together at podlings childcare, our lovely home from home setting. Following our latest Ofsted inspection we were both graded outstanding again.

My hours are from 8am until 5.00pm , Monday to Thursday.
