My Experience

Alongside my tutoring experience, I have many years of experience as a classroom teacher, during which I worked closely with children with a variety of SEND and SEMH needs. This has enabled me to develop an understanding of inclusive teaching strategies, differentiated learning, and supporting children with additional needs to make meaningful progress.

I hold up-to-date Safeguarding and Prevent training and am committed to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and professional practice in all aspects of my work.

My aim is to continue supporting children who are unable to attend mainstream school, by providing high-quality, personalised education that enables them to make academic progress, develop confidence, and engage positively with learning in a way that meets their individual needs.

I am currently covering the maternity leave of the main provider at a home education hub, where children who are home educated attend low demand, semi-structured sessions. These are primarily child led, addressing the interests and curiosities of the children. Creativity and independence are fostered; it's a place where children can be children, but still develop life skills and progress academically, as well as socialise with others. If there was a demand for a setting like this in and around Honiton, I would love to set up my own space.

My Qualifications

Bachelor of Education honours Primary degree. Qualified in 2009. Paediatric first aid trained. Public liability insurance.
