My Experience

I’ve worked with children for most of my adult life and have always loved it. I have a Level 3 QCF qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce and started my career at 18, completing my apprenticeship at a private nursery. After qualifying, I was promoted to Room Leader, which gave me lots of experience caring for children, supporting their development and creating a fun, safe and nurturing environment.

I then spent several years working as a nanny for different families. I cared for a little boy and baby twin girls, followed by two separate families with two boys. I really enjoyed becoming part of each family and getting to know the children as individuals, adapting to their routines, personalities and needs.

After starting a family of my own, I went on to work as a neonatal nursery nurse for 8 years. This was incredibly rewarding and gave me a wealth of experience, particularly with newborn babies and supporting parents. It also taught me to be calm, patient and reassuring, even when things don’t always go to plan!

As a mum myself, I know how much trust is involved in choosing someone to care for your children. I want both children and parents to feel comfortable with me, and I always aim to provide care that feels warm, personal and reassuring rather than simply being a job.

I’m happy to get involved with everything from play and activities to mealtimes, bath time, bedtime routines and all the little things that make up a child’s day. Most importantly, I want children in my care to feel safe, happy, listened to and able to be themselves.

My Qualifications

I have a level 3 qualification in childcare.
I am up to date with first aid training.
I am dbs checked through my current job.

My Availability

I’m ideally looking for part-time childcare work, Monday to Friday, although I would consider full-time opportunities for the right family. I’m also open to occasional evening and/or weekend childcare when required.

My Fees

• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
