About Me
My name is Lucy, and I am a 40-year-old mother of two boys, aged seven and four months. I am a friendly, motivated, empathetic and caring individual with a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development and wellbeing.
I am hardworking, reliable and proactive, with the ability to use my initiative and adapt effectively to different situations. I have a particular passion for supporting and advocating for children with additional needs, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to feel valued, included and supported.
I have a strong interest in early years development, particularly learning through play, sensory play and messy play. I believe children learn best when they are given opportunities to explore, experiment and develop their skills in a fun, engaging and supportive environment.
I am currently on maternity leave from my role as a Crèche Supervisor at a health club, where I manage a small team and work closely with the wider management team. My role involves ensuring that we consistently provide a high-quality service for children and families, while continually identifying ways to improve the experience and better support the needs of parents and carers who rely on our service.
I am passionate about creating safe, nurturing and inclusive environments where children can thrive, and I take great pride in building positive relationships with both children and their families.
My Experience
I have over 10 years’ experience working within a local nursery, where I held roles as both a Nursery Nurse and SENCO. During this time, I gained extensive experience supporting children across a wide range of ages, from babies through to children aged 12 and beyond, with a particular focus on their individual development, wellbeing and additional needs.
Prior to having my own children, I also worked as a nanny for two different families over a two-year period. This provided me with valuable experience of working closely with families and tailoring care and activities to meet the individual needs of each child.
Alongside my childcare experience, I have also been self-employed, running my own messy play groups and providing family photography services, as well as creating and setting up bespoke messy play parties for toddlers. These experiences allowed me to combine my creativity and passion for child-led, sensory experiences with my knowledge of early years development.
I currently work within a crèche setting as a Crèche Supervisor, where I oversee a small team and help ensure the smooth running of the crèche while maintaining a high standard of care and service for children, parents and carers.
My Qualifications
Fully qualified nursery nurse
Special Educational Needs co-ordinator.
Lots of experience with 1-1 work with children who have a range of abilities and additional needs.
My Availability
I am now looking to offer part-time nannying due to having my own children, allowing me to balance family life while continuing to support children and families in a caring and professional capacity.
I would also be happy to offer babysitting services during the day and at weekends.
