About Me
My name is Sylvia and I am an Ofsted Registered Child-Minder living in Priors Way, situated on the outskirts of Maidenhead / Holyport/ Windsor and within a short drive off the M4.Easy parking.
I have 2 children of my own a girl aged 21, and a boy, 19 years old, who both love being around other children.
I teach French to the children I look after because being bilingual acts as an important enabler for children's future development. It's also something they can remember me by down the years!
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stages (E.Y.F.S.) observations and I do a range of activities such as singing, dancing, story times, cooking, gardening, outdoor play, and trips to the park and local animal parks.
I am also a member of the National Trust and as such we always organise visits to nearby natural sights.
I attend local toddler groups and the Maidenhead Library Story & Song Time! groups.
I feel it's important to promote healthy eating with Children and as such children in my care enjoy varied fresh home-cooked meals, fruits and snacks. I also share an allotment with 2 other childminders.
I create a lovely, fun and friendly atmosphere for children to thrive in!
My Experience
I have been a child-minder for the past 19 years and was graded "Outstanding" by Ofsted in June 2015.
Having Children of my own and my love for children meant that Child-Minding was the obvious career direction I had to take once I decided to move on my previous job.
I was Head-Waitress at the Waterside Inn in Bray prior to becoming a Child-minder and from experience I can say that I have a good knowledge of healthy food.
I love what I do. It is not just a job; I believe I give your Children the best start in life while your children are in my care.
My Qualifications
I have an NVQ Level 3 in childcare, First Aid, Food and Hygiene, and Safeguarding and I conduct regular refresher courses and additional new Training Modules for the Early Years Children.
I am also a member of the Morton Michel Child-Care Insurance and the Child-Minder group in Maidenhead.
I speak French and teach it to the children I care for. I used to teach at "123 Soleil", the French School in Maidenhead.
My Availability
I can look after 0-13-Year-old children but I specialise in Early Year Children.
I have Full-Time and Part-Time Vacancies for early Year Children, and I also cover school holidays and emergency childcare.
I also consider any other proposals on request and after careful consideration.
My Usual Starting Times are:
Monday to Friday: from 07:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday to Sunday: Not Available.
