About Me
My family of nearly 4 years will only need me adhoc and for babysitting from September 2025, as the youngest will be in school till 4:30pm and Mum will be in between jobs. I do still have another family I do Tuesday and Wednesday 4:30pm-6:30pm and have been with them for five years therefore I wish to honour this commitment as the children I look after for this length of time mean a lot to me.
I am still in contact with children I looked after 36 years ago even though they’re back in Australia now.
I live in Limpsfield Oxted. I trained as a nurse between 1988-1992 and then worked with the terminally ill.
Whilst I was a nurse I also worked for a nanny agency in London so I have been in childcare for 38 years.
I worked with a family for 4 years in Oxted. Their daughter is now 11 and their son 13 they moved to Newcastle but still come and stay with me a few times a year.
Before that job I worked for 20 years with children with special needs.
I have a caring nature, I'm fun, organised and enjoy working with all children. I love to attend playgroups locally and have now found one for everyday of the week. They cost £1-£2 and are in local church halls. They provide stimulation and socialising skills for babies/toddlers making the transition when starting pre school easier.
My twin boys are 22 and are working full time but they still love it if I pop back to ours with wee ones.
I love to cook and the rest of my family think I cook well. I get great pleasure out of cooking and it is always appreciated.
I'm very tidy and run a clean house.
I don't smoke or drink, but I'm not boring !
I can swim very well and enjoy an active life.
I love helping with homework, reading to the children is one of my greatest pleasures and happy to help with project work. I think it is great fun for the children to visit museums, especially when they are relevant to the studying they may be doing at school.
I’m flexible and have found myself having the children I care for overnight at mine and I have even taken them away on holiday to the coast with my boys.
I love going for walks and our house is in the woods. Over the past year I have built a camp with the girls not far from my house and every school holidays we add more to it.
My Experience
Nursing, nanny, working with children with special needs, running the colts section of the cricket club for 5 years, volunteering at school ( which has included reading weekly, cooking, school trips, sport events etc.)
Volunteering at the Cubs and going on cub camp.
Licensed driver for Tandridge council which was required to transport children.
First aid course.

8 o levels, I'm old !
Nursing but too long ago to practise now without retraining, but the basic knowledge never leaves you.

Licensed driver for Tandridge council.
First aid course with St, Johns ambulance 2 years ago.

My Availability
I’m looking for child/children to care for part/full time. I am particularly familiar with drop offs and pick ups at Hazelwood which is where my families I have worked with recently have all attended.
I would prefer a baby as I still wish to continue with my 3 school pick ups for families I have worked with for years on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so on these days I need to finish at 4pm. I can however work later on Mondays and Fridays if these are your preferred days.
I would prefer part time but if these right family would consider full time.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)
I am available over the Easter school holidays if anyone requires help or cover.
Both the families I work for are away and I’m not so I’m able to do all hours.
I think this is to be discussed as every job is different and the requirements may vary, but I clear £16 an hour at the moment. I am happy to pay my own tax and NI saving you the cost of employees NI.
I'm very happy to take your child or children to their activities as being a Mum myself I know how important this is.

Jane has looked after our three children (now aged 2, 6 and 9) for the past few years, primarily helping with school pick-ups from Hazelwood School and after-school care. This has included preparing dinner, helping with homework, and managing bath time until I get home.
She has also been flexible when needed, supporting with babysitting and occasional overnight stays, which has been very helpful for our family.
Jane is reliable and brings a positive, energetic presence. The children love spending time with her and are comfortable in her care. She has also taken them out on trips, including a day out in London.
Overall, Jane has provided consistent and dependable support with our childcare needs, and I’d be happy to recommend her to another family looking for a nanny.
