About Me
Hi, my name is Leanne and I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder, graded Outstanding. I am also a qualified primary school teacher with 18 years of experience in working with young children.
I live in North Chingford with my husband and three beautiful children. My children attend St. Mary's Primary School, where I also offer drop offs and pick ups from.
We have a beautiful home which is less than 5 minutes walk from the Ridgeway Park. There is lots of space for children to learn and play, including a safe but fun-filled garden and a separate dedicated playroom which is bright, colourful and full of toys!
From a young age I always knew that I wanted to work with children. During my teacher training, I worked in various nurseries and schools. I became a qualified teacher in 2005 and quickly progressed to Deputy Headteacher. Since moving to Chingford, I have decided to become a childminder as although I loved teaching, I wanted a new challenge. Being a childminder combines caring for children and helping them to develop. Having used childminders myself and having cared for other people’s children, I understand what an emotional roller-coaster it can be finding the right person to look after your little ones. Having also come from the teaching profession, I have a great understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and am able to support your little ones as they develop and grow into happy confident children, in a safe and caring environment.

My Experience
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in French and English and a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education. I have taught in primary schools for the past 14 years and have been an Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher for 6 of those years. In my role, I have lead Teaching and Learning, been a safeguarding lead and generally worked with children and their families in all aspects.
I have a very good knowledge of the Early Years and Primary Curriculum and am able to ensure that children progress in a calm, fun way.
I am able to regularly assess a child's progress and cater activities based on their individual interests and needs.
Now as a childminder, I am Ofsted registered and have completed the Early Years Childcare Course, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children Attendance Course andam fully DBS checked.
